TALKING ABOUT Two of Four?  Oops...  Shutting up now...

The franchises I get nerdy about are so obscure that not even most nerds know about them.

Breaking the pledge to... agree... with Twooffour. We're guilty of this by, like, three times. Countless times we've accused new members of being Zigfried or the like (although with JediTray's alternates it was the truth.)

How about changing the thread title?

The Voldemort Pledge?

I fail to understand your logic then. Why?

I was a lurker for years, not so long ago I finally signed in and now I'm posting a bit. Never heard of twooffour until this thread.

Never crossed a post with the guy so why would I pledge to not respond to him? Do I find him confrontational and sort of annoying, sure, it's his thing and as long as people make a big deal out of the whole thing -- be it feeding him, or posting about not posting about him/to him -- he'll be happy. Not just in this case, but in general stop feeding the trolls and eventually they'll go away. I agree that this "let's all openly ignore him" isn't working as well as you may have thought, Frink. You're giving him too much importance, just what he wants.

I swear, you guys are killing me.  Please go back to the original post and re-read the pledge.  There are no exceptions, either you follow it or you don't.  The next person who breaks the pledge is off the list.

It was working fine until people started breaking the pledge.

Crap.

I just lost The Game.  :(  And I had been winning for at least 2 months.

I clearly kicked his ass in a debate, so there's no need to let him feebly challenge me in debates anymore.

Add me to the list.

You know what, take my name off the list for now. I don't feel the need to respond to most of his posts, but being on a list like this is something I realized I don't feel like.

I imagine it's not in the off topic zone but I can't seem to find it either.

I wish there was a feature where you could read the recent posts made by individual users across all threads.

It would be handy for all manner of reasons but I guess finding out how people finally got the boot might encourage people to stick to the rules more closely.

Say goodbye, to all this and "hello" to Jason Issacs.

Truly heartbreaking.  It probably has something to do with the rest of us just being able to withstand his withering logic and arguments.

Funny thing is I was in an intense discussion in politics recently, and I started to feel a bit like I was pulling a twooffour there, responding to every attempted point with lengthy, drawn out rebuttals filled with hyperlinks.  Of course I feel I was much more respectful, but upon this realization, I quickly changed my tone.  "Once you start down the dark path...."  I guess I had one of those Dark Side Cave moments there :)

The ROTJ collaborative thread is a wealth of ideas, both on how to edit Return of the Jedi, as well as how to collaborate in an edit.  Emanswfan has taken leadership of the project.

RE: Take the twooffour Pledge

He made a couple joke posts about the whole Watto/Jew caricature thing in a General Star Wars topic where it didn't even make sense, so I deleted the posts and suggested he take it easy. He responded with an e-mail telling me I was wrong, shouldn't be moderating a forum because I failed to see the connection between his post and the thread, and informed me that he was ignoring my warning.

He was banned (temporarily) because:

  1. He's a troll
  2. His response to my mild warning, instead of stating his case and arguing his point, was written purposefully to insult my intelligence and thumb his nose at the moderators
  3. I'm sick of his particular brand of bullshit, don't like him personally, and would prefer he not be here

He seemed to think that #3 was a huge scandal because it revealed bias on my part and demonstrated a willingness to ban people because I don't like them. As any member with whom I've disagreed over the years can tell you, #3 by itself is not, and has never been, enough of a reason to ban anyone. It just makes it more pleasurable to hit the button.

He'll be allowed back in a week if he cares to return, for those of you who truly miss him.
