I want the simpsons one in HD
EDIT actually I take that back this is very useful as there are a lot of original 35mm clips here if unmolested as they look could be good for colour timing checks on the films
Got it downloaded
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1280x720 24fps [Video]

Slayer of DeaditesNice! Would any of the material be handy for Despecialized 2.0?

Well that was just beautiful. I know I've been here too long when I immediately noted that it was the Yavin IV takeoff shot without the clouds in front of Yavin.
Also, Sebastian Shaw in 720p! Not nearly enough, but it's something.

A légpárnás hajóm tele van angolnákkal.Looks usable in many places to me. Not necessarily for color, but certainly for detail. Posted the link in Harmy's ESB thread.

Better Grumpy than DopeyGood find, nice to have in 720p. Do you have to have an account to download? I'll ask my wife...
As discussed previously, it's not really usable for projects because it doesn't contain any full-length length shots, just short snippets. Useful as a reference, though (no clipped whites like the GOUT).

I dunno. Doesn't look like HD material to me. The DVD version upscales nicely though.
I was actually thinking the other day, that someone could recreate this from Blu-ray sources.

Better Grumpy than DopeyVideo is definitely better than the DVD, it also has the full credits missing from the DVD version:
http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/36994
However, the audio L/R channels are flipped on the Facebook video. Would be better to mux this video with the 5.1 AC3 or DTS audio from the DVD.
Edit: After checking, it appears that the whites on the Facebook video are move blown out than the DVD version. Will check how they compare against the GOUT.

But still comes direct from original 35mm if that is the case it is still unmolested and untimed
If it is an upconversion it is from an HD or close to it source, no way it is SD but at some point it was interlaced

Pa pa, pa pa, pa pa, pa pa, pa pa paWould this have even been edited on film, i.e. was it ever used theatrically?
If its purpose was exclusively as a home cinema demo it probably only exists in the SD video domain.

Read their responses. It's an SD source.
They haven't taken out the film reels in years.
It looks over SD, maybe 600i we need a pixel counter, and it was def interlaced at one point.
And it did come from film not video, I did not mean that they got the reel out to make it but the the original source was 35mm

Does the quality look anything like any home video version? WOW was made for LD and no way upscaled it looked that good, this is straight from the master then upscaled

Better Grumpy than DopeyI read the bit where they said the source was 720p h264, but didn't see where they said it had been upconverted. And if you check the screenshot I posted above, this video is higher resolution than the version off the demo DVD.
Unfortunately, the compression has killed the quality - at least my download, which at 90MB is about a third of the size of the 480i DVD version. If you check the Yavin take off shot, all grain has gone from the sky and fine detail is missing from the forest trees.

I've always found the THX WOW DVD upscales nicely in a semi-decent blu-ray player. :-)
