Dark Jedi KnightI am not sure if there are many fans of this crazy movie but I like it, even though it is cheesy as hell lol, but in case you guys did not know, Scream\Shout Factory is releasing this in a few months and they already confirmed that it will be the censored 91 minute version, well we have already began working on the 2 scenes that are missing and have upscaled them nicely to 1080p, we just want to have these ready for when it releases, now I know that these will probably not be as good as the BD, but until it releases and we actually see how it will look, who knows, it could fit in very nicely, because I seriously doubt this is going to be a "knock you socks off" transfer, but I am sure it will be good.
Then I will need to fix the audio, I am assuming it will be DTS-HD MA 2.0, but again, who knows, it could end up being 5.1
Stay tuned, also is there any interest in this?

Well that sucks that it's going to be censored they should have left it alone. I for one like this movie it's a fun movie to watch. I would love to see the uncut version restored by you guys.
You sure have alot of projects going on.

The MGM-HD UK showings are indeed the uncut version, with the Barbeaubies and the party scene. I should know; RIG from TehParadox ripped it for me and I checked it out last night. In 1080p too.

Where can we get this file? this would obviously be better footage to use to edit into the BD when released.
Thanks

Another project to keep an eye on. Let's hope that the Shout release gives you and your team something decent to work with, DJ.
BTW, "Barbeaubies"...can't help but smile every time I read that. Never fails.

"This is a film by a filmmaker desperately in love with filmmaking" - Harold KnowlesApparently there are multiple reasons why the uncut version CANnot be released in the US.
(1) yeah, you had the case with the mom renting the dvd for her kids, just to get a big surprise a few hours later. The thing is, it wasn't her complaining per se that got the dvd pulled.
(2) it was Adrienne Barbeau's contract. Her contract states that no nudity of her can be played in the US (apparently she doesn't care if her Bar.. well, you know, show up overseas).
(3) also, the cut PG version is Craven's preferred version. Even so, it still comes down to MGM US not having the rights/permission to play SWAMP THING with the extra bits.
Which is why the uncut version can play on MGM-HD UK.

I wonder if Second Sight has any interest in releasing this.
Perhaps in a cool looking steelbook. They did a nice job with Return of the Living Dead...

Yea I saw that already, and those screens look pretty good but surely not great, so I am thinking that we will be able to do this project fairly easy, we already have all the assets we need to finish it once I have the Blu in hand.

Probably but I also have the rare OOP recalled DVD of this as well and You_Too did a fantastic job of upscaling it, but we will see, either way this BD will be uncut when we are done with it.

Didn't you get the MGM-HD UK rip I sent you? That is completely uncut and in true 720p HD. I don't know how much better you can get than that when it comes to the unedited version of SWAMP THING.

Yes I got it, and it is 1080 not 720p, but zeropc helped me get another version as well, so we have 2 HDTV versions as well as what You_Too worked up from the DVD, either way I am very confident this project will be relatively easy to do, unless we have to color correct the actual BD video, You_Too actually saw something in the screens he did not like to much but we will wait and see if it is true on the actual release.

SharkzThe thing I think I can add that is VERY interesting is that I saw this movie at a local movie theater when it was first released (in the USA). The movie was rated PG, and it WAS the 93 minute version. I don't know why MGM insists that the extra 2 minutes of nudity was only for the "international" version, but that is simply not true. I can promise you that the two minutes in question were definitely the most memorable part of the movie for me!
