Superman II and Superman III extended (Released) — Page 11

Speaking of the Supers... does anyone know if there is any online summary of Superman III - the TV cut and Superman - the "KCOP version" (the "Salkind cut")? A detailed one, listing all the differences between these versions and the released DVDs (ideally with screens )? I could get these, but I don't know if they're worth it...

I'm not looking for a one paragraph summary or vague mentions of "more Jor El", but for a detailed, thorough analysis from someone who knows Superman by heart, who saw the expanded cuts, and who compared them (saw, personally - since there are e.g. some analyses of missing scenes from the script, laserdisc, etc., etc., with someone guessing what extra scenes should be in the Salkind version). Something such as e.g. this analysis and comparisonr of the Cliffhanger workprint: http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=100625

If there is anything like that out there.

Is there anyone who is able to upload the old ABC Sunday Night Movie Promo for either one of these? I'm betting it won't be on the official discs in november. It was included on the making of III torrent, in great quality, which I lost. Thanks a lot!

hello there, just joined because i was interested in this discussion.

way back in 2000 i purchased off Ebay bootleg copies of the 4 superman films extended versions.

part one was over 3hrs long and i though reasonable copy

part 2 included a scene that i remember not being on the rerelease extended version, donnor cut or amongst the deleted scenes. it was a scen with a guy messing round with a camera at niagra falls and the film all rolls out. obviously stupid LEster slapstick, beneath Donnor to even film a scene.

part 3 had a brutal sex scene with superman and the dumb blonde which for obvious reasons couldnt be shown!!!!

part 4 only had the russian missles scene and the hurricane scene added.

i havent read all the posts, but is there anyone that has bothered to repiece all the footage????

my copies are on VHS, in NTSC format, in New Zealand we have PAL, which has a faster frame rate than NTSC which reduces running time.

well to be fair its off camera, the scene is shot from the robert vaughs sister characters bedroom (from memory) so all you hear is severe thumping, bunoing and groaning.

so the cameras on the evil sister and her expressions to all the noise

still, not really family entertainment

IIRC, in the UK, that sequence was shown during the afternoon slots when ITV broadcast the extended version throughout the mid to late 80s. It's quite tame.

See for yourselves.

Here I was expecting the unrated Hancock scene.

Nice Booshman!

I see you improved the colours.

Does anyone know if there were 2 versions of the Superman II  international cuts? My memory is a little fuzzy, but I could have sworn there was...

I've re-authored the 2 disc version of the Supermsn II RIC into a single disc dual layer release. So no more need to change discs duriing the movie. The original menus are intact. It's on the spleen now.
