I am ready for the trials!Didn't Kurtz get fired midway through production of ESB and replaced by Howard Kazanjian (who also did ROTJ)? Maybe we should change the name of this website to originalduology.com if people hate ROTJ so much.
Anyways, onto the topic. Even though I prefer SW, and I can see the appeal of Star Trek. TOS and TNG seem to be very enjoyable shows that have a few great episodes in them. DS9 I heard has a strong cult following, and Voyager and Enterprise are shows to be avoided.
Sounding like a broken record since May 2006.

aka PancakesI don't hate ROTJ. It disappoints me, sure, as there are a great many missed opportunities in it, and it doesn't feel like a continuation of what was set up in ESB ... but I still enjoy it, and watch it often (if not as often as SW and ESB).

I'll be honest, I don't care for the prequels. But can't everyone have their own opinions? And him posting a link to "Whambulance" isn't saying how he's a fan of the prequels, he's just tired of hearing your complaining about then...

... And they had 'The Empire Strikes Back', the fifth of the four Star Wars films. He is fucking with us numerically, isn't he! "Children, count up to ten." "Four, five, six, one, two, three, ten". No, it goes, four, five, six, one, two, three… No, it goes: four, five, six. One... Two and three have not been made." "Two and three have not been made! What should they be?" "What should they be? We do not know. All we know is that there will be a big floppy character in it that goes, squawk squawk squawk... who needs a punch up the bracket!"

no, I just get sick and tired of prequel lovers doing anything and everything they can which includes bringing down the OT films and telling lies and defending lies told by lucas just to try and not make their beloved prequels (JUNKQUELS) not look like the pieces of shit that they are

aka PancakesI challenge you to find one person that could be described as a "prequel lover" on this site. Hell, we have a whole section of the forum dedicated to people who are re-writing the prequels from scratch, as if the official versions never existed. Not to mention all the fan edits of the existing versions.

Token Linguistics NerdAlso, it bears mentioning that "junkquels" is not a very clever moniker. If you're going for satire, you'd be better off with something that either rhymes with prequels (like "freakquels") or something that is otherwise etymologically related to prequels (and I can't really think of an example for that one).
But really, either way, nothing will make that particular approach clever or admirable. It's about as silly and sophomoric as referring to George Lucas as "George Luca$" or using the oft-repeated "M$ Windows". It's just not clever. Or humorous. It's juvenile and it makes people less likely to take you seriously. So why bother taking the time to type the extra letters when you could focus that energy and time on improving your overall spelling and grammar?

Between "Junkquels" and using "prequel lover" as a prejorative, I have to ask:
How old are you?

aka PancakesI wouldn't consider Empire OR Khan to be in the top five best sci-fi films ever made, let alone the top two. What about 2001? Or Blade Runner? Children of Men? Moon? Planet of the Apes? The Day the Earth Stood Still? Invasion of the Body Snatchers? Abre los ojos? Alien? The Road?
I could go on, but I'll stop. My point is, every one of those films is (in my mind) superior to both Empire and Wrath of Khan, at least as science fiction.

Magister Pontifex MaximusStar Wars isn't in any way Science Fiction it's Space Opera or Space Fantasy (Sinbad with laser swords).
Star Trek is almost Science Fiction but Wrath Of Khan is less so, it's essentially a submarine war film with phasers.
The Slow Motion Picture is the closest you get to a Science Fiction Star Trek film, it also the most cinematic of all the Trek films (TWOK is really a TV movie with a cinema release).
I love TWOK I'm not dissing it for one second but other than a little nod to terraforming it's Sci-Fi stripes are not exactly earned.
