According to aintitcoolnews there is a Yoda standalone movie in the works. I imagine with the fight scenes in the prequel they can make a pretty good action movie with Yoda.

Magister Pontifex MaximusRelax it's on aintitcoolnews which is about as reliable as supershadow.
The PT fight scenes with Yoda were the biggest insult to the series.
Yoda spends much of his training scenes trying to either take Luke's saber away or diminish it's effectiveness.
When we see him in the PT he is leaping all over the place shoving his sword into the nearest torso he can find.
It's The Gandhi Chainsaw Massacre.

Just a simple manYup, it's another Harry Knowles b.s. made up story to get website hits.
A Yoda standalone is the worst idea ever.
If it were somehow true, I'd pretty much give up any hope on the new direction of the franchise.
The great thing about Yoda, like other OT characters such as Vader, was the mystery of who he was.
Then the prequels showed us, and it was boring and uninteresting.
Meh.

I don't know. We already heard Disney say they wanted to do 2-3 per year, including some spin-off movies. I can't imagine how they would do a Yoda movie, but if they think it will make money, then...
But yes, this would be the among the dumbest ideas ever, along with Yaddle, midichlorians, Boba Fett as a kid, and cg clone troopers.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityI'm not seeing these reports that says they'll be 2-3 per year, just ones that they'll be one every 2-3 years. Is it possible the spin-off movies aren't happening at all?

A bunch of sites reported that back in November. Their sources were apparently Disney employees who said they were quoting Kathleen Kennedy. Who knows if that's true or not, but I bet Disney wants to do something similar to how they are releasing Marvel movies right now, so I fully expect them to start planning multiple spin-offs.

The User of MathsThey actually said they want LucasArts to release 2-3 per year, not that they have to be Star Wars films.

I have a feeling we're going to be getting quite a few direct to video cgi films, which I don't really mind. They're worth the single watch. If they're good, cool. If they're not, then disregard them. Same as EU books, especially those that contradict eachother. Your personal canon is what you make it :) I don't think it'll effect the live action, "core" films.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Yoda is a Jedi master and a lightsaber is primitive to him considering his powers. Same with the Emperor.

The User of MathsI haven't seen the ewok movies but the Aladdin sequels are pretty good. The 3rd movie is a bit slower but it has most of the original cast back.

I am ready for the trials!Battle for Endor is so freaking dark for a kid's movie. (It's the Alien III of the SW universe.) Disney would never go there. ;)

Jedi KnightHow old does someone have to be before it becomes plausible to accuse them of becoming senile? Because if he isn't, then I guess Harry is just starved for attention since the internet realized how full of shit his pathetic excuse for a website was around 2001.

legendary but little-known Jedi MasterI think a Yoda standalone movie could, in theory, be good. But I have become so jaded that I don't believe there is anyone in LFL or Disney who would do anything but make a royal f-up of it. The Yoda fight scenes in the PT are something I wish I could erase from my memory. Talk about a missed opportunity...

It's interesting that Disney have again mentioned 2015 as the target release date for Ep 7, despite Abram's apparent reluctance to commit to a specific time scale.

It's like Alien 3 where Ripley and Hicks are killed off in the first few minutes and Newt has to fight off a horde of rapists and murderers controlled by the Queen alien, armed only with her scream, Father Christmas with a gun and the Dog alien who has mysteriously switched sides and is running around the ceiling distracting everybody.
... Let's watch that movie.

Now the story that we're getting is there will be Boba Fett and Han Solo spinoff films. The Han Solo film would feature him before the first Star Wars. They didnt mention for sure when the Boba Fett film will take place. They said this time period means Darth Vader could be featured as a villian again.

Once upon a time there was a Star Wars trilogy. Now there is apocrypha.Let's explain the backstory of a character whose greatest asset is his mysterious nature! And while we're at it, we can tell the story of Han Solo that even George Lucas realized was a bad idea!
The odds that those will be good are exhaust port level.

The User of MathsIf these spinoffs are direct to video, that means there might be more on location shots due to low budget. That is what some OT fans have wanted right?
