Curse you all, you should have caught me!He kinda looks like Jake Lloyd in that screenshot.
Again, that looks much more convincing than the original.

Alright, just hand over the Technicolor and no one gets hurt. That Star Destroyer one at the end of the previous page is excellent!
What has been done to the detail of the far away Star Destroyers?
I need more Goldenthal!

Use The Forks!Once again looks great. Any time scale on a release?

In the process of retaining lost sky detail, I reduced detail in the far star destroyers, which is not desirable.

At the earliest, I'll hopefully have all the work done by the end of the year, however...
The rendering process I'm scared is going to take a long time since the processing is all done by seperating each film into scenes that can have the same filter settings that are all in lagarith avi format and are each processed through by speedgrade (I export a LUT to apply adjustments only possible in Speedgrade and apply it as a color lookup in photoshop after pre-grading color correction) and photoshop (used for pre-grading color correction, LUT applying, and special chromatic aberration fixes and grain addition process) which renders the video. Right now one 4 minute clip currently takes a full day to render, though I'm looking into ways to reduce the time, without sacrificing quality.
So long answer short, I'm not entirely committing to a specific release date till I have a bit clearer picture of how the rendering process will go.

Sounds like we need to get you set up with SSDs in a 10 core multiprocessor server setup. :-)
Just call me NSP 8)

haha, it's just photoshop's render video isn't nearly as fast as AE's renderer, probably because photoshop normally isn't used with videos, so Adobe is not as focused on the technology. For certain though, I couldn't output images as good as they are now (though none of them are final final yet) without using photoshop.
EDIT: just started googling sbout photoshop's slow rendering issues and am finding some solutions. :-)

No color correction, but this is currently how I have the deleted scenes looking like. Obviously the grain is back from the original film.

Am I the only one who's seeing the original pixelated on that one?

I'm confused, what do you mean?

The original image appears to be heavily pixelated.
JEDIT: Nevermind, works now. Looks great.

If the H265 codec existed by now, I'd release this in 4K.

Mustafar battle in motion (youtube may have goofed with the color a bit, the image appears to have been made a bit more red). This is nearly finished, except there are some shots where their faces appear odd. the grain I am now using is from actual 35mm scans, but the youtube compression artifacts hide it even in 1080p, but you should still notice a much more filmic texture.

I do feel it looks more real, but yeah, it's hard to see on the Youtube. Also, I've always felt Mustafar, oddly enough seemed like one of the most real places, as the used sets for the metal parts; and then the lava, being simply lava, looked pretty real. Lava looks unreal normally, so it looked fine in the movie. Basically what I'm saying is, I love what you've done with the colors and such, but it might be more interesting to see a video of something else.

Curse you all, you should have caught me!Looks good. In motion (and on youtube) I almost can't tell what you did. And I think that's a good thing.

Awesome stuff!
So yeah when is H265 codec coming for the general public to use?

It looks great without the compression artifacts and if you compare this with the original, this one does look a lot better. Also there is some slight flicker added to the the scene (and in extension the whole film)
I know this isn't the most radical example. I'll probably use the Grevious/Obi battle on Utapua.

Oh it looks great for sure, but I can't wait to see something like that.

Utapua (in motion). This one is almost done, though I have to still add the warmth and saturation back into the image (it's far too cool and unsaturated right now and there's some odd reds I'm still working on). But you can see the digital sheen stripped away and the cartoony colors gone. I kept the grain fine but made it a little more prominent then the first clip. It looks very filmic now. I also adjusted my encoder settings a bit to make the grain more visible, so you should be able to see it decently enough in 1080p (though the compression artifacts still mess with it a bit).

Very cool, can't wait for the full movies to be available -- this is looking to be the version I'll be watching every time I re-watch the series, once it's out.
