Much more revised version of the Opening battle (now the full scene).  This has better skin tones (though it could need a bit more saturation), now uses the real 35mm film scan for grain (just like the last two clips), further gets rid of the cartoony colors (look at the buzz droids now), and tried to enhance the detail without oversharpening.  This is pretty close to what is the final version, apart from some work to still do on the lasers and lightsabers.  I would again recommend watching in 1080p to see the grain and fine detail work.

Audio will come soon for sure.  Haven't gotten into the audio side of things as much, but will certainly do it soon.  I think my next clip should have audio.

 I'm working very hard on this now, and am very confident in getting out a reasonable release date for all this.  Though I'm certain, once finishing all the films, I'll be making tweaks throughout each film to give the PT more visual continuity.  I really want all the films to look like they were shot similar much like you can tell in the OT.

And how Episode VII will be shot, ideally. Looking forward to this greatly.

Also, the green sabers look unusually forest green in the YouTube clip of Utapau. Maybe it's just been to long since Jedi, or the Blu-ray coloring makes it looks wrong and I'm not compensating for that right in my head, but I remember the green saber in the OT being lighter and more of an acid green.

The clip of the opening battle looks excellent though.

Yes, I know the green color isn't correct in that clip, I'm tweaking the skintones, lasers, and lightsabers still in that clip.

Honestly, the more I get into it, the more I find this film to be the ugliest and hardest to fix, despite being originally shot 35mm.

What happened with the edge of things? Looks like the old 3d tech on both screenshots double image with some red.

Yeah, chromatic aberration is WAY too wide on the last two shots.

FAIL on my part.  I put the chromatic aberration filter on the wrong layer in AE making it look too incorrect.  I'll edit the post with the correct screenshots soon.  I should remember to double check the image before I export it.

It's scary how bad the original looks, considering this is bluray.  It looks like they just upscaled the DVD.
