Star Wars Legacy Edition

I'm surprised there has been so little discussion of this project so, um, let's discuss it.

There was already a thread about this, but after he decided to inform everyone that he would only ever show it to a few friends and it would never be shown to anyone outside his elite circle, then it seemed pointless for anyone to bother being interested in it.

Looks cool and all, but ultimately worthless to anyone but him.

Looks like a majority of what he is doing on that site is just cleaning up the 2004 DVD, unless he has since scanned a print, i don't know for sure.

Haha, made it for his group of "elite buddies"? How useless. Looks like he has a scanned print, sky, not that it's much good if he wants to keep it to himself. Also looks like he went through and corrected all the errors he could find in SW (from that picture on his site depicting a fixed matte), so not a true restoration anyway. Oh well, people are stupid!

I have a copy of the unaltered OT in HD....but I'm the only one who can watch it.  Just thought i'd let everyone know.

A far as I know, his only concern is that Lucasfilm would make a fuss if he tried to share it. And he'd probably end up losing his job. It's not that he doesn't want to share it.

The Star Wars trilogy. There can be only one.

In a way, he is sort of doing a very minimalist special edition. I wish George had done that. I believe there was a version of Star Trek: The Motion Picture that did something similar - new effects shots were done to replace older ones, but using the same FX tech as the original shots.

(Sigh) I wish George had done that.
