JJ took fan suggestions on Kimmel last night. Trust me, it's worth watching.

The fact that he could have writer's block with a story as expansive as star wars is just scary...i hope that was pure sarcasm lol but can't wait for the film to finally come back it's been way too long since there's been a Star Wars to get excited about.  And to anyone looking for an exciting new story try reading Galactic Battlefront, it's awesome.

Those talk shows are scripted. He had to say they were having a bit of writer's block to segue into the fan suggestions gag.

The basic plot has been done and given the ok a while ago.  Probably even before the sale of LFL was made public.

How many drafts it takes to get an actual shooting script from that same story is a good question though.

In the interim the big three could be written out if they refuse to come on board or are difficult in negotiations.

They appear to not be important to the plot and are just window dressing.

The story obviously will be centered around the younger actors who will be playing their kids.  Whether they are young adults like in their 20's or teenagers has not yet been said. Nor who will play them or even their names.

They tried the prequels with a new young cast and that worked extremely well, lol.

I hope to God that isn't the case. I personally could give a shit about young Jedi, Leia and Han's children or whatever else. Just bring back the core three and make it their story again.

All I really want is each film as it was originally seen and heard in theaters; no fixes, corrections, "improvements" or modifications necessary.

It is going to be weird having two decades worth of post-ROTJ Star Wars novels out there, and then to have these new movies totally dismiss and reject them.

Part of me kind of hopes they stick to certain well established things, like Han and Leia's children and their names, even if they greatly veer away from everything else.

On the other hand, I think it would be kind of cool if the SW universe we get introduced to in the new films doesn't muck around with anything established in the EU, and completely ignores every bit of it.

How cool would it be if Han and Leia never got married! Maybe they just had a short lived fling after the events of ROTJ and went their separate ways. I'd kind of love it if it were that far removed from everything EU.

Yeah! That'd be awesome!

I'm sure we'd all love to see him

her

and this guy

running around saving the galaxy from evil.

1999 might have been an okay time to start a project like that, Mark and Harrison weren't looking their worst at that time (sorry Carrie, can't say the same for you), but 14 years in the future, time has caught up to them. I know they can work all kinds of magic on them, but I still don't think that is a movie anyone really wants to see. The ship has sailed for our old heroes. Still, it'll be cool to see them play a role in the new film.

I doubt Luke is Married to Mara Jade.  I wish it were Canon but it is not.  He will be a celibate monk probably, lol.  Or maybe he had a fling with some chick and has a son or daughter but is not Married.  Attachment is forbidden, lol,  i really wish the prequels never happened.

Yes photos and videos like ^ are what worries me to. Nobody wants to see a embarassing 'Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull' style old-folks reunion. If they are coming back, they have to have it written into their contracts that they spend the next two years at the gym. I'm not exactly an exercise freak myself but nobody is gonna be stupid enough to pay me a few million dollars to star in the biggest SF franchise ever. If they were, I'd be eating nought but brown rice and salads for two years, spending every minute doing pushups and signing up for fencing lessons!

Let's hope they get small, dignified and meaningful cameos. Playing OT style archetypes like:

Luke = The new old Ben

Han = The new General Dodonna

Leia = The new Mon Mothma

Hamill's role would be the largest if he's gonna be the mentor/father figure. Plus he's a damn fine actor.

Ideally Further Adventures of Luke Skywalker should have been done by 1992-3 at the latest, the same with Indiana Jones unfortunately.

Obviously if star wars VII had been made then the Zahn Trilogy would not have been allowed to be written.

Age is a factor not just for the cast but the directors as well.

Would Lucas have come out of retirement sooner for SW 7 or Spielberg when he wanted to be taken Seriously as a director want to do INDY pictures?

We know they wanted to do other things.

And Harrison Ford was a big star outside star wars and indy he did not need them.

Lucas had decided by about 1991 to not make the sequel trilogy.  It just was not a completely closed off option until he made the decision during or after making the prequels.

He only sort of changed his mind because he does not have to write or direct the new movies.

Are 7-9 G canon or Disney Canon,lol.

Has anybody noticed this before? I always have.

If JJ developed upon the subtext of this scene it would certainly be a bold new direction for the SW franchise ;-)

btw I haven't edited this in any way. It is as it appears in ESB (I just took it out of the context of the preceeding and following shots).

^ Those are a little more reasuring.

The Harrison pic is from the forthcoming 'Ender's Game' film right? I saw the trailer ahead of ST Into Darkness. The trailer makes EG look soooooo bad. Although it does make Harrison look badass, he looks fired up and re-energised, not that glazed half-bored expression he had in KOTCS.

Hope 'Ender's Game' sucks as I won't be seeing it. The author sounds like an a*sewipe.

You don't need to (and shouldn't) assign an episode number to the adventures of some CW pretty boy pretending to be a Jedi. If that's Disney's game plan, they can do idiotic crap like that in one of the standalone movies.

It's only fair to use images of Harrison, Mark and Carrie in professional makeup from their most recent or upcoming appearances, don't you think? ;)

Thanks for posting that Silverwook. I'm sick of hearing people say "I don't Wanna watch a movie about old people!" and using pics of the actors at their worst as examples to back themselves up. Cause, well, I don't wanna watch a movie about little kids! The "big three" still look good enough and all three can still act their asses off. I don't see the problem there...

Nice, Harmy! I'm actually kinda indifferent about Ep. 7. I have very little hope or even care really, that it will be any good. But I'm sure once a trailer pops up with Mark pulling his hood back like Obi-Wan in SW, I'll be a  bit giddy.

I know. Do you think Mark knew what he was doing when he went to the hairdressers that morning!

Or maybe his barber was a big Star Wars fan and just took liberties. It is spookily Ben like.

While browsing for current Carrie photos I noticed...

..cold shower, cold shower

This is nice...
