So what do you think, guys?

Did I make ridiculous accusations?

Did imperialscum set me straight?

When 56 years old I reach, look as good I will not.

The ROTJ collaborative thread is a wealth of ideas, both on how to edit Return of the Jedi, as well as how to collaborate in an edit.  Emanswfan has taken leadership of the project.

I think we've got to realize that if reports are to be believed and Carrie will be in the new episode she will be in it in context of how many years have passed since the other episodes. I doubt very much that she will be wearing a gold bikini or playing up a sexy image, she will be playing the character of Leia in her later years as again if reports are to be believed, will the other original cast members.

I know I'm probably stating the obvious and I know a lot of whats being said about her looks is probably tongue in cheek but remember Carrie herself or members of her family and friends almost definitely visit this site so for the love of the original movies we should show a little bit of respect.

Just thought I'd say.

While we're on the topic, I'll just say that I'd take Carrie Fisher thin, fat, sober or stoned. I love her. She's hilarious, talented and a very interesting person.

There’s not enough makeup in the world to make Fisher look human anymore.

I don’t understand why she would want to be in this film.

That is not someone who belongs on the big screen.

Ford should vanish as well.

All that is needed is Hamill’s version of Obi-Wan (Old Luke).

The word that all three seem to be coming back reeks of desperation.

That first line can certainly be construed as an insult.

Wait... are Darth Hade and imperialscum the same person?

Of course not... Anyway why didn't you jump on this Darth Hade guy who actually wrote something insulting?

Prequel Trilogy was supposed to be a story about a good man turning bad. In reality, it is a story about how a complete jerk (PT Anakin) turned into one of the best characters in film history (OT Vader)

You both have been very naughty.

Carrie looks like an older Leia and that's an end to it.

I think you should leave that conclusion to individual opinion.

Carrie Fisher played Princess Leia and got older so it's just something you have to accept my dear.

My problem is not her age or about her weight. My problem is that I just have a hard time discerning what makes her face look like Carrie Fisher today... It's like she had facial surgery or something (?). I don't want to be disrespectful, she does look okay and even sometime nice in a couple of pictures of those past years. but like a nice woman who would not be Carrie Fisher. There was a time she could have been standing in front of me in the street I would not even have guessed that she was Carrie Fisher.  See, Harrison is like 15 yo older and he looks very old but he still looks like himself. To be fair things tend to change when I see her on interview, because her crazy personality and charisma are still present. But on still pictures, I'm sorry to say that for 56 (that's not THAT old) she could look a lot more like herself (if that even make sens!) if time had been more kind with her. I'm still glad she could play a part in the new movie. I'm just not sure I could really feel like I'm watching an older Leia. I'd like her to prove me wrong! :)

For one thing Harrison has been making films constantly since 1983 so obviously he is more recognisable we never stop seeing him.

As a career actor he has to look ready to work infront of a camera all the time.

Carrie has made more or less a handful of films since ROTJ.

She is an authoress and public speaker and doesn't have Harrison's constant work out routine.

If you compare her young and old pictures with young old pictures of other actresses playing roles in the field it's obviously the same woman and fits into their number.

None of this line of speaking makes a particle of sense to me.

It's just the cultural bias against mature women all over again.

Sean Connery is still claimed to be sexy and if he hadn't chose to retire would still be in demand but the best Tippi Hedren can hope for is the occasional telly comedy role.

Kathleen Turner doesn't look as conventionally attractive as she did in the eighties (as much due to illness as passage of time) but she is still an amazing actress who she doesn't get enough work and like Carrie looks like herself but older.

Bingo, you just seem to be unable to accept that people can have different opinions on the matter. If you see it that way then it doesn't mean everyone should see it your way.

Prequel Trilogy was supposed to be a story about a good man turning bad. In reality, it is a story about how a complete jerk (PT Anakin) turned into one of the best characters in film history (OT Vader)

And your repeated posting of contrary opinions to my own proves that observation is as applicable to me as you.

I think we should worry less about Carrie's looks and just be happy to see her again in this role.
