You act as if you have to pay for a Vimeo account.

Fox sent me a nastygram over the youtube videos so I took them down just to avoid any trouble.  Just in case anybody was wondering why the links I posted don't work.

Can't wait.  Thanks -1!

first up. one of the luke at tosche station

sequences..

this is ONLY using the avisynth script,

and not the full blown editting suite

with cleanup plugins..

there's a few weird artifacts, and the some

of the larger damage is still there.

it's a decent starting point..

top-original

bottom - cleaned plus some sharpening

the file properties:

==============

time : 61 seconds

Video: Xvid 720x560 29.97fps 10243kbps [Video 0]

Audio: PCM 44100Hz stereo 1411kbps [Audio 1]

(still converting as i posted, should

be up shortly)

here's some screenshots of luke at tosche station.

some showing the anomalies.

the frames were slightly off,

but matched up in most places.

Is the bottom video the cleaned up version ? Because I think it looks worse than the original in some places. What's that black "thing" on the sky in the shot where Luke runs up the stairs to the Tosche station ?

yup, as mentioned above.

but this is just playing around.

there's a lot more tests, and much

better results coming using dedicated

software compared to scripts.

there's a lot of artifacts and anomolies

in these images. some aren't as noticeable

in the video versions.

i hope to post more soon.

Amazing!

The "fixed" frames look as if someone took a really badly compressed video (and I mean as compressed having a 2hrs long 1080p film compressed to less than 1GB) and sharpened the hell out of it. This kind of thing actually seems to affect most of the samples you post -1. What's up with that?

we need to keep the full uncompressed images,

and videos under wraps for now..

besides even that Greedo scene is 9Gigs or something HUGE.

there's no way i could post (or would even try) just for that.

when the final version is released, there won't be any of

those issues with it.

i've watched many versions of these clips at full resolution,

and they look great.

all these tests, down sampled versions, are more about

the process, and not indicative of anything final of course.

just wanted to give some behind the scenes testing, while

we move towards the final stages hopefully.

It's been awhile since I encoded these but yes I believe those are the parameters I used.

Edit:  Keep in mind that these were 720p sources and not the higher resolution and bitrate that the blu's would offer.

theyre definitely getting there. i would be keen to see the biggs scenes reintroduced, as well as red leader's spiel about anakin, and this is definitly starting to seem feasible.

have you guys had a chance to clean up the endor bunker scene? are they all as equally damaged or are some less achievable?
