"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTMaybe this has been noted elsewhere, but I think I just discovered something surprising and cool. Watching The Lost Rebels deleted scene from ROTJ, and the Mon Calamari sounds like Jim Henson/Kermit the Frog/Ernie to me. I thought, "I know George Lucas wanted Jim before he considered Frank Oz for Yoda. Maybe he finally got him to participate." Then at 4:47, the director is talking to him and calls him Jim! This may be old news to everyone, but I'm pretty sure that's Jim Henson under that Mon Calamari suit!

No, he says Tim because it was Tim Rose who was the puppeteer.

Also, I don't really think it sounds particularly like Henson.
But Ady's reason is better.

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTI'm kind of annoyed at these deleted scenes. I feel as if they cut them a bit short almost deliberately. If they had simply given a couple more seconds at the beginning and ending in many cases, they could be more useful for fanedits.

They probably cut theme because of the film stutter, like a visual version of when you start an old record and put the needle on and get the "zwip" sound at the start

Is there any chance you can show some examples? I know the interior Falcon scenes with the troops and the blue milk scene are high enough quality that they could possibly be incorporated with little clean up, but the rest are such hit and miss quality wise that even cleaning up scratched etc they would still stick out when placed next to the blu-ray footage. I'd love to see what you were able to do on any of the other scenes through

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTOh please don't ever leave us, emanswfan! It looks like Adywan would love your help, and so would we over at the ROTJ Collaborative thread. We have nearly every role filled, at least for the present, but we are in desperate need of someone to fix the ROTJ deleted scenes!
Please check out our progress here:

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTWell I don't even have a BD player yet, I'm afraid. I'm sure plenty others here would be able to help you out more than I. However, I'm glad you're willing to help. Please feel free to offer suggestions for our edit. If you don't mind, I would like to include your name to our first thread, even if you don't wish to officially take part in its creation. Simply fixing up the deleted scenes would be a huge help and you would deserve credit.

convenient! I'm working on th ROTJ deleted scenes right now. But, I could really need some help on the BD ripping process, I was just going into my ripped footage and it doesn't seem to have compresssed properly or something, as I could see compression artifacts I didn't see on my tv. I'm using DVDFab trial, as I don't know what's the best ripping software.
use ANYDVD HD. You can rip the whole blu-ray to your hard drive without any recompression

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTOne of the trickiest parts of redoing some of these scenes would be adding color. I know I'm hoping to include Lost Rebels footage, but a couple of the parts I'm interested in are black and white. Is this even possible? If so, it may be comforting to know that for our purposes, we'd probably only need a few seconds from the whole black and white section, which would certainly be easier to fix that 5 minutes worth.

From my limited understanding, colorization of black and white footage is difficult and almost always doesn't look that great.
Off topic but relevant to why you're asking: When it comes to a good ROTJ edit, I remain convinced we need to film new things.

Slayer of DeaditesDoes anyone want to check out some basic color correction I did around the time the deleted scenes were first released? Mainly, I tried to restore a natural look to the Luke/Leia ESB Hoth Scene and the Wampa scenes. They're not impressive by any means but are sufficient to show that the scenes can be color corrected to look natural...

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTI'm happy with any deleted scene improvement. Please show.
Tim, I imagine it's pretty tough. The colorized It's a Wonderful Life is only fair. I think it'd be neat, but I understand it's not worthwhile. As for filming new actors, I agree that would be fantastic.

Absolutely. Keep in mind that these are VERY crude and just to show basic color correction. It's not my specialty and my source were 720p AVI files.
Here are the links to the deleted scenes color corrected:
WAMPA SCENES: http://www.multiupload.com/TPUN9S65YK
HAN AND LEIA HALLWAY SCENE: http://www.multiupload.com/LW8HWVOAVC
LUKE AND LEIA HOTH SCENE: http://www.multiupload.com/QXNVB5AN5W
Unfortnately, the Han and Leia scene is the worst of them all. I only included it if anyone wants to take a look. These are what were on my YouTube channel before FOX went on a viral take-down spree.

I'm not sure how to colorize film, but you can make it look very good if you have accurate refference material. The problem with all 3 of the colorizations of It's A wonderful Life is that they didn't have color photos of the sets and people. The main problem with any colorization is that the colorized footage lacks varied colors. For example, a person's skin is made not only of different shades, but of many different colors. If anyone wants to take the time, it is possible to do it frame by frame with photoshop. Right now I'm going through ANH:R for accurate frames to compare for color-correction of the deleted scenes.

"darth endeor was a meanyhead" - FatherSkywalker, et al--QFTWell, if anyone ever does feel ambitious, it should amount to *only* around 200 frames max (approximately 8 seconds). Considering the effort it will take to correct all the other thousands of colored frames, if someone does know how to do it, I don't think it would be the end of the world. However, I admit I may be asking more than anyone is able to provide. Just thought I'd throw it out there.
