And my first draft of the '90s VHS-inspired 'Star Wars' cover (Empire and Jedi forthcoming, but damn if they don't use some obscure photos for the back):
I think it still needs a Lucasfilm logo on the spine, above the THX logo, though it wasn't there on the original VHS box. It was a catalogue number there, but this is designed for Disc 1 of the GOUT and I can't for the life of me figure out its catalogue number.
i like that poster also, but my favorite has always
been the hildebrandt poster..
i've started to work on one.. but i think i'll leave it without
all the logos, and other things too. the back will also be minimal:
==

might even remove the DVD - video logo off the front..
doesn't need to be there..
oops.. the MM needs to be closer to the 35 too..
and the whole image needs to be centered horizontally..

enthusiasti like this. its a nice alternative way of considering a case.
if it were me, i would remove all the text/barcode/information entirely, leaving just the poster to cover the entire box. then perhaps consider a band or sleeve to have this on around the case.

ChainsawASH did the 90 box set, so I've decided to tackle the 92 box set.
I will upload these after I am confident in their quality, and I am done with the Blu Ray sized covers I am doing for Harmy's edits.
The images I used are the highest quality I could manage. Painstaking hours in front of a computer searching for the highest of quality images. The fonts I used aren't exact, but they are very close.
Do you have a standalone image of the poster you used for your Empire cover? i.e. I can't seem to find a good-quality copy with Yoda and visible Tauntaun feet.

I quickly needed a trilogy cover for a single-sized triple-case, and some labels, so I threw something together in a matter of hours. The cover-artwork itself borrows from Falle's trilogy-box-cover (sorry for that) while the "design" of the back is based on a cover by Rikter.
Full size (300 dpi)
For the labels I had to rearrange the posters of TESB and ROTJ to fit around the hole in the label, which took the most time.
Full size labels (300 dpi):
A New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
I know it's a very old post but if someone still has the disc label for Return of the Jedi, please upload it! It's the only one not available anymore :-)

The disc art is cool. Who made these? I've been through all the SW cover art I've acquired through the ages and these aren't in there.
Maybe someone will have them....

I made some new covers with Struzan and McQuarrie art.

The back template (the lines) are taken from Savage's Revisited art, and the credits are taken from MaximRecoil's VHS style covers because I like how they looked. (I tried using "the movie font" but my attempts did not fit very well with the covers) I hope they are ok with me using their work.

Here's my quick attempt at a set of covers based on the 1994 UK VHS set, which I've owned since the release. Not the most imaginative design ever but it holds some nostalgia for me and is certainly preferable to the 2006 dvds. i plan to use these for my gout discs.

Am I imagining it or did I see a really great set of covers in here modeled on the Kenner action figure cards?

I've just been reading back through this thread and seen some covers with awesome preview pictures, but long-dead links. Does anyone have copies of PepsiOtaku's box sets, ChansawAsh's VHS-inspired covers, or Plamdi's 1993 & 1995 Laserdisc-inspired ones?
I've tried Google and the Wayback Machine to no avail. Help me, OT forummers, you're my only hope!
EDIT: Imrahil, are these by DarthVong the Kenner-inspired covers you're looking for?

I'm also a fan of these old VHS covers. This was my take on the SW cover:

Does anyone have any Trilogy covers that are made for single-sized cases (3-discs with 14mm spine)? I wanted to consolidate a bit, but not having much luck finding anything for this size.

So the DVD cases suck so I figured I'd make my own (I won't be buying the blu-rays until they're either $30 or include the original films). I made a matching set of Prequel trilogy boxes and now I'm turning to the non-SE OT, what I've really been looking forward to.
I was originally going to put a bunch of text on this, but I think the art looks cool enough on its own with only the spartan use of logos. Any suggestions moving forward?
