I gotta say, that's pretty great looking.

Doesn't know how to handle his new-found fameHmm... Just looks like Drake's Fortune in space. Not really as innovative as the people in the video make it out to be. I'm also pretty concerned that it will still have way too much prequel influence for my taste.
Still, I'm cautiously optimistic that just maybe it'll be worthwhile. The last SW game I played was the Battlefront series, and even those were only avg. IMO. I'd love a really great SW game set in or near the OT again!
Oh, and am I the only one who thinks 1313 sounds like some lame title a 12 yr old would come up with trying to be "edgy" and "ominous"? Seriously, who comes up with this crap? Hopefully it's just a working title...

Yeah I try to pretend the prequels don't exist so having a bunch of battle droids or clone troopers running around would definitely spoil this one for me, haha.
My favorite games are ones that allow freedom to explore or choose my own missions (Red Dead, Skyrim, Mass Effect) so I've always wanted a Star Wars game where you can free roam different environments, fly to other galaxies whenever you want, etc.
A pre-Star Wars Han Solo game like that, for example, would be pretty sweet, imo.
Obviously 1313 doesn't look like this but I'm still interested in checking it out.

So it really is M rated...I don't get how that works. But now that I've seen the video, I see that they're more focused on making a "mature" game than they are making a Star Wars game.

Uh.....what? Seems like you have a pretty limited definition of what Star Wars is.
Anyway, here's a cool interview with a couple of the devs. Sounds like it might end up with a TEEN rating after all after they explained what they meant by it being mature. Which is cool, Republic Commando ended up with a TEEN and that was a pretty sick game.

of Earth.I wasn't blown away... literally or otherwise.
It looked like Uncharted, but on a space ship.
I was hoping for something with a little less spectacle. Like Dark Forces used to be.
I prefer sneaking around to all of this straight fight'ing, I guess.

I've heard of it, yes, but not very familiar with the gameplay I never had an xbox and was out of gaming for a few years. Just recently got a 360.

Well, if by "limited" you mean that I haven't read any of the books, comics, or played most of the games, then yeah =)
Idunno, something about the art design just feels very generic sci-fi and not specific to Star Wars at all.
...and the gameplay looks incredibly boring so far =)

Return to Form, or Forum in this case!!It has a taste of the original trilogy, but there's way too much pretentious-epic shit flying around that screams prequels.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won't last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you'll be able to project it on a 20' by 40' screen with perfect quality. I think it's the director's prerogative, not the studio's to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

It means someone doesn't know what literally means. And there are a ton of people who don't know what it means, 'cause I hear it used improperly all the time. And not literally all the time, otherwise I'd never hear anything else.
Natch.

Eh, it looks ok, but doesn't really grab me. Based on the footage released so far, I don't think I'd figure out on my own that it was actually based in the Star Wars universe. There's the Millenium Falcon cockpit door frame, and I guess the ship looks a little like a Corellian corvette, but other than that...
I'll probably give it a rent, though I don't really care for 3rd-person shooters. I'm just glad there's an OT-era game finally getting released again.
I wish they'd make another X-Wing or Dark Forces. Those made me fall in love with Star Wars again as a teen. Another Rebel Assault rail shooter would also be awesome.

I haven't really enjoyed a Star Wars game since the Dark Forces series... but I always fall for the hype. Game looks like it could be pretty great. I hope it lives up to it.

CP3S, I can't help but notice you completely left out Republic Commando. That was a good one.
Agreed, even though it was PT crap the game was very enjoyable, better than Jedi Outcast (which wasn't THAT great in the end).
I've never played Republic Commando, or even heard much about it. It came out during a several year period that I didn't play video games and had very little interest in them. Plus it has to do with the PT, so I never doubled back to check it out after picking up a new gaming habit.
Maybe I should check it out. I do have a hard time imagining it being better than Jedi Outcast though. I rather liked Outcast (especially the beginning before you get your force powers back, though they were kind of fun in that game). I even liked Jedi Apprentice, though, which most people don't.

That was my take on that 1313 clip too. While I was thinking this is great, normal people and not Jedi, they go and do Jedi like stunts like jumping into a massive bottomless pit and grabbing onto a crashing ship in mid air.
I guess this is what it means to be Star Wars these days then, people jumping off edges with no regard for their personal safety. :(
If the first Star Wars film were remade today, Luke and Leia would come to the retracted bridge on the Death Star, shrug for a second, then make a running jump for the level just below the one they are on, land on their feet, and continue running. Han and Chewie would run down the hall into a room full a Stormtroopers, stand there for a second, look at each other, let out a chuckle, roll their eyes around a bit, then proceed to clear the room in a matter of seconds with a stylized mixture of their blasters and hand-to-hand combat, the go on like it was something they do on a daily basis.

Wait for me. I shall be merciful and quick.Outcast is my favorite Star Wars game of all time. I definitely recommend checking out Republic Commando. As others have said, the demo was definitely more indicative of today's video games then it is the state of Star Wars. Heck, check out this clip from Tomb Raider that was shown the same day as 1313.
