I recently downloaded this and am completly lost with it. Anybody have some useful tips?

More importantly, how do you past a scene with in a scene. e.g. an X-Wing in Mos Eisley

You can use "masking" to paste something into another scene.

YouTube is a great place to find Vegas tutorials.

Masking would be used if you want to isolate a particular area of an image from the whole frame (You could either show just that part, or invert the mask, which would show everything except that part.)

If it's an static image file, then you can paint out the sections in Photoshop, save as a PNG or PDF, and then turn on transparency on the image in Vegas.

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They're certainly beyond any repair you're capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren't one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can't say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won't suck as much as a fan edit.
