Given the recent surge in preservation efforts of Star Wars and certain forum member's posts, I've noticed there might be a good amount of desire to do this. While obviously this would leave more content in the fanedit section, overall this might be a good trade-off. Consolidate the fan edit forums into one, and the preservation as well. Lots of work, I know, but I really think that's a good idea.
Thoughts?

Its already been said its a good idea, it just takes time to write it into the forums software and redesign the site around it.....Im guessing it will come eventually :)

<..>As I mentioned in another thread, creating separate forums for fan edits and other fan projects (preservations, custom DVDs, etc.) was agreed in principle some time ago. We are also going to keep the distinction between Star Wars and non-Star Wars related projects.
The reason it hasn't happened yet is because the functionality to create new sub-forums is not in this version of the forum software.

EmperorI ran into a bit of a problem when I realized that I made a lot of changes to the database on my working version and that I'd need to make the same changes to the live version before I could upgrade it. I'll need an extra day or two to sort that out. Don't want to make a mess of things in there :)
