Better a bad bomb than a bombad
At this point it's unclear how this will relate - will it be a sequel, a prequel or something more akin to a tangential project ala "Prometheus" - set on the same futuristic Earth filled with Replicants and Blade Runners but revolving around entirely different characters.
This might be neat.

No, you were right. The movie was boring. Scott is very hit and miss IMHO. When he misses it's never terrible, but almost always bland-city. Alien is one of my favourite movies, but Blade Runner and Robin Hood were snorefests.

The very thought of a Blade Runner sequel, remake, reboot, etc. sends a terrified chill down my spine.

You have it all wrong. I somewhat agree with your statement. But to call Blade Runner boring is like calling Fight Club a chick flick.

Anti-CowboyI'd much rather see a sequel to Highlander 2 directed by David Lynch made. The story should consist of Sean Connery saying "Zeist" over-and-over again as he travels through the nightmarish boat tunnel from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory while "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" plays in an infinite loop in the background.

My Heather Langenkamp avatar has decided to go on an extended vacation and may not be back for sometime. Not to worry, though, for she will be back - eventually.

"friggin midgit devil teddy bear"I kind of want to overlap the audio from the Willy Wonka boat tunnel with You Spin Me Round and a clip of Sean Connery saying "Zeist" looped throughout. No doubt it would be quite the experience.

Tauntaun herder-Damn Fool Idealistic CrusaderI don't really know what more they could do with BR. It's pretty cut and dry. I guess we can go back to LA with Rid, Syd Mead, Douglas Trumbull, Vangelis and find out...
Maybe more of Dick's story will be in there?

Anyone who has called BR boring is either an idiot or hasn't seen it theatrically. One of the great theater-going experience of my life-up there with Kubrick/Leone/Lean and all of the visionary classics.

Magister Pontifex MaximusIt would be amusing to figure out how by 2019 we have FTL, many off world colonies and genetically engineered artificial people and animals common place.
Will the date be side stepped or will it be set in a divergent universe?
Will it be the same divergent universe as Alien and Prometheus?
Will it be connected to any other works by PKD or scenes and concepts from Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? not used in the first film.
I for one didn't find Blade Runner boring (far from it) so I don't mind if the tone is roughly similar.
