Reminds me of the Kmart brand cassettes I used back then to record the audio of tv shows. :)

"Another FedMart Quality Product"

Classic

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

I've long wondered who could have made those store brands. The Kmart ones I had held up a lot better than any other cheap brand I could afford as a kid. They were still quite playable when I experimented with digitizing some of them about ten years ago.

Scary thing is, some of the labels on my Laserdiscs are starting to look like the labels on that cassette. The glue is fossilizing. Already had a disc where the labels fell off after being played for the first time in years.

This looks great! Are you going to release it to all us hungry little fans?

If you do, I hope you will releases it lossless, ie, FLAC...

This brings back a lot of memories for me. In the days before home video I used to record movies on to cassette for later playback.

ah, the 70s...

thanks!

This would make a great alternate audio for a preservation!

Update: Just seen the latest comments on the other thread concerned.

Doh!

I'd love to hear it as it is. Please post it raw. Then people could make what they want out of it.

I'll just wait for something good that syncs up with Puggo Grande or Harmy's version.

Really looking forward to this - what a nostalgic blast from the past! Brings back fond memories of recording all my favourite films onto audio cassette (with a mic! I used to go nuts if anyone talked hahaha!). We must have been one of the last families in the UK to get a VHS recorder!

I'd prefer to hear it untampered with in any way, as it was originally recorded. People can always do the patches and alternate cleaned up versions later.

I'd like to hear as is too. How will you distribute?

this screams to be synced up to the puggo grande, and the GOUT

"Changing classic movies at all is just wrong." Puggo

"HA, Ha, you r ghey" was probably a hilariously insulting comment in Elementary and Middle School, but its not cooly insulting anymore and its certainly not funny: it makes people who say it look like, well, an "inbred monkey." TheSessler

"I'm still %20 the wiser. It amused me that after doing a google image search for "The Final Milf" the second picture is Roger Delgado followed by lots and lots of porn." Bingowings

Ah, I see. I shall keep a look out at all the usual places.

Thanks Puggo.

I vote for raw, and the tape flip over gap at actual length.  ie you have to wait through the tape flipping portion.  No to patching with the soundtrack from another source, but can fill this tape flip void or other missing segments with something phun.  And please leave in the over-recorded segment, curious what was so important or a complete accident.

I don't know - I've never distributed any of my work.  After doing my restorations, they have always just "somehow/magically" gotten out there.

+1.  You could fill the gap with sound effects of a cassette tape being ejected, flipped over and restarted, even.

Is there much audience mumbling?

If so you could sample a bit from elsewhere in the recording do what IronMagus suggests about making the tape flip noise but magically have the audience still shifting around in the background.

The effect would be like someone had taped him taping the film and caught the tape flip on their tape.

I'd love to listen to this synched up with Puggo Grande.

Say goodbye, to all this and "hello" to Jason Issacs.

I just thought I would give Puggo some thanks for taking care of my cassette recording.  I hope that you guys find some value in it (but not monetary).

As a huge SW fan, I love the main focus of this site (GOUT, preservations, restorations, etc), and I feel like I get to contribute something to it with Puggos help.

Thanks Puggo.
