OT's bucketbotLooks great! :) Though, the way it's positioned, that shadow looks kinda funny now, like it's joined with the guns. Haha. It looks like a four-eyed alien slug or something. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything...

'Blu, not Blue!' campaign supporter - the struggle continues...Adywan - Your latest 9 minute preview was terrifically coloured, and your new 'Probe Droid firing' sequence is just what I'd hoped for! I like where the generators are more centrally-placed in the background now, and note that you changed the look of the whole background itself in the screenshots put up earlier. I was also glad that your 'Wampa' sequence wasn't finalized (or at least revealed) yet, as some surprises before the release of this thing is a good thing I reckon. That re-positioned gun behind Chewbacca looks great now too, by the way.
doubleofive - Good call on that 'missing' turret in front of the 'Power Generators'. I am so glad that Adywan is planning to add it in, behind the foreground Probe Droid, rather than remove the one in the display screen, as I think this will be far better to referrence the rebel's territory behind the Droid. Can you check your PM's later.
Shadowman99 - Some nice ideas recently there, especially adding panel colour to the snowspeeder full-scale 'props' to match the miniatures. I'm a big fan of that idea.
Jay- Thanks for the welcome additions to the software. :)

Here's a few fixes for consideration:
See, I always liked the arrangement of the Star Destroyers in this shot. Firstly, its more visually pleasing than a uniformed group. Also it serves as subtext to the situation constantly on display in ESB- the empire is almost at odds with itself! They all keep making mistakes, pissing off Vader left and right. Of course it makes sense they would all have their own direction in which their ship is going.

I agree with Brimley.....ships don't always travel in uniform formations.....
I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityShadowman99 is my hero. Screenshots, that's the key, ladies and gentlemen. I was going to mention the floating SD as I just noticed it upon viewing GoodMusician's alternate music track (which is where I noticed the turret as well).
I don't think that shadow on the Falcon looks bad, but at least its not the shadow of the gun like I thought it was.

'Blu, not Blue!' campaign supporter - the struggle continues...Just wanted to say, that as far as that first 'establishing' group shot of the Imperial Fleet in 'Empire', I prefer it's 'lack of uniformity' at this point too.

aka PancakesI'm surprised at everyone wanting to keep the fleet positioning the same - I've always thought it looked awful.
At least fix the Executor shadows!

Adywan might agree with you, but what Brimley and vbangle suggested also has merit. Tough call. Wouldn't that mean that the ships in the distance were all going in the same direction (forwards and downwards) as the one where the 'close-up' of it's uppermost section (it's a'standard' stardestroyer, not the 'Executor', although we see it's underbelly shortly afterwards) passes overhead in this shot?

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityNo matter what, at least that one ship that has the arrow saying it has an especially bad motion, it needs to not be so slidy. But hey, it looks like ILM used the same techniques Ady does just moving 2D objects, so there's a good precedant!

enthusiasti can imagine the fleet circling like planes do over a crowded airport to avoid collisions, but that metaphor doesnt stand when the spaceships can just stop. i think the uniformity idea sounds good, but may give the impression that the fleet actually knows where to go, which at this point it doesnt quite. the test will be seeing them in motion, its hard to make a decision i guess until we see them moving.
just backtracking, i think the yellow stripe should be kept. it kind of looks better, and then han and lando are visually similar in their outfits, so perhaps highlights their similarities.

I wonder if they added the blue to kinda make the film seem colder... because DAMN ...that's a lot of blue.
i think it amy have been a crude attempt at highlighting its harsh times for the rebellion. in the prequels the colours of each film seem tailored to the mood, (EP1+2 being rosy and over saturated to show the inoocence and romance, EP3 being alot darker and broodier) in ROTJ the colours seem to get a bit jolly again after the emperor is killed, han almost looks like he is wearing lipstick!

At least that's a better excuse than "to give them a more modern look." But one of the first screenshots Ady posted of the color correction was how the DVD actually has LESS blue in a few shots. Craziness.

I know Adywan said he wasn't going to bother with Han's blood stripe already, but just to clarify: his blood stripes are yellow throughout ROTJ (check the scene where he's convincing Lando to take the Falcon on the DSII attack, or even better the scene where the ewok hugs his leg after they've all been made "a part of the tribe"). The stripes are only red in ANH.

Hi Ady,
First time poster on Original Trilogy altho i've been lurking for a good couple of years. Loved the ANH-R and loving all the ideas being thrown around for ESB.
Anyway, i know there might be more activity via pm but I hadn't see an update from Ady regarding his monitor. I may be able to help out as I have access to discounts for a couple of the major manufacturers.
Also, depending on where you are in the UK i could give you my old LCD as I bought a new one in february if yo uare sturgling with your old 15" :)
If you're interested feel free to pm me.

"Untallented and clueless to the core"My thought on the whole stardestroyer placement issue is that all the stardestroyers have all just returned from deploying the probe droids around the various systems and are now regrouping with the Executor, so they would be facing all directions and not uniform in placement

WormDitto to what others said on the ship formations. It's bad enough that all the ships are always "facing upright" to one another in sci fi... we don't need any perfect fleet formations, especially not in this situation!
