About the slug:  I seem to recall Ady re-timing the shot so that the creature moves slower (it was in a clip, right?).  Perhaps this is enough for the people who think it looks too puppet-like.

I have to say... the Mr. Adrian thing is driving me nuts. :P

Me too. I alluded to it in a joke I made a few pages back. I was hoping he might take my hint without me or anybody else having to sound... well, mean.

Is Mr adywan teasing us? :-D http://vimeo.com/47677051

Sure hope not.

Agreed. Adywan's work has always been of a higher caliber than this. Where did you find this, anyway, Titus? It was posted to a rather newly registered Vimeo account, and the user hasn't posted any other videos, information, or external links. It's all a bit mysterious, really. =)

I found it here! http://www.therpf.com/f10/empire-strikes-back-additional-animation-footage-129811/ I posted this link before.

The Wampa and Tauntaun are from someone who was doing some stop motion animation tests as a pet project. This is not Ady's work.

I definitely wouldn't mind those added shots though ;) I bet Ady could make this look good.

Crap I thought Adywan wanted to hide his Identity within the different forums. I was wrong. I can aggree that his modes and passion will make everything look more realistic and top quality. Im sorry again for calling Adywan, Mr Adrian it will not happen again.:-D

It's all good. Outside of these boards I'm Batman, but I chose Asteroid-Man instead for the alias. We all have our aliases for a reason. If you used our real names, we lock you up in the batcave.

Hey guys it's been a while since I've last posted. Progress looks slow and steady, as I'm well used to it being, having followed the project since its inception. I'm grateful for the numerous clips and updates on FB and elsewhere.

On a somewhat related note, do you think someone could seed the Star Wars Revisited NTSC DVD9? If someone does this, I promise to keep  the thing seeded whenever my computer is on (which is always).

RE: STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"**ADYWAN** - **UPDATED CHANGES LIST NOW AVAILABLE**

Sorry about the lack of updates here. I have only just got internet back since i was cut off prior to the house move and, for some reason, accessing OT.com on my mobile just didn't want to work so i could only access and post any updates on facebook through the android app.

I haven't got my main computer set up yet. I only have the wife's old laptop to use at present, so i can't work or access any of the video side of things. I'm having to do a bit or work on the house (part new kitchen and a new bathroom because the owner before had a disabled bath fitted, plus the whole house has to be redecorated and new carpets.) All this work will need to be completed before i can start work on the new workroom, so i can have the computer set back up again and work on the models etc side of things again. I'm hoping that it shouldn't take more than a couple of months to complete. I'm still aiming for a 2012 release date. Not too much left to do  before work on the audio starts. I need to catch up with a few people and get the ball rolling once again.

As most of my time is taken up at the moment, i probably won't have time to read all the new comments and have a chance to reply to any for a while too. But i'll try and get back into the swing of things ASAP.

Thanks for your patience.

Also, from ESB:R onwards (including the HD version of ANH:R) the name Adywan will no longer be used for these edits. People now associate this name solely with me and it is not right that it would indicate that i am the sole person working on this. There are so many talented people that are now helping out, or have helped out, on ESB:R and this will continue for the rest of the Revisited edits.

so they will now become an AD1 production, as it is more like a small production company working on these edits.

Thanks for the update! I'm sure everyone appreciates it. :D

By the way, I wanted to let you know; being in film school and working as a T.A. for another film related program, I've got access to a LOT of free and talented resources if you need them (anything from voice actors, to animators, sculptors, sound designers etc etc). I work at an advertising firm too so graphic designers/motion graphics designers are always at the disposal. Let me know if any of this would be of any assistance to you.

Good luck with the redecorating adywan, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to see a photo of your finished workroom/workstation posted once it's eventually completed! :)

As far as your proposed change of name credit on these goes, I gotta agree with a LOT of what Bingowings said above.

I can't recall who worked on the logo originally, but personally I always loved seeing that 'ADYWAN' intro. swing into view accompanied by the 'Imperial March' whenever I watched Star Wars Revisited.

*note* - I don't have the disc at hand to do a screenshot just now, but as someone who's dabbled with typograpy in the past, there was always a little something that bothered me about it, that I never mentioned before -

It ended up saying AN ADYWAN production which was split over 3 lines in differing sizes.  However, the word AN was done in the same font as the one used for the word ADYWAN, yet the word production was done in a different font altogether.  But for a more satisfactory look, the 3 words should have ideally been laid out in EITHER of these 2 ways instead - either the word AN should have been done in the same font as the word production too...or alternatively, all 3 words could have been done in the same font.  Either of these ways would have made things look a little better, although I prefer the former.

I can understand you wanting a revamped logo for this to go along with your excellent revamped '20th Century Fox' logo...but the proposed 'AD1' wording doesn't truly read as 'ADYWAN', but rather as AD'one' rather than AD'wan' unfortunately.  So I agree with Bingo's observations.

I'll certainly miss that current intro. with the 'Imperial March' cue if you're thinking about shortening that whole credit...but like Bingo, am sure no-one will begrudge you still calling your edits something like 'an ADYWAN production'/'ADYWAN presents'/ADYWAN PRODUCTIONS presents', or whatever.  Any others that are helping out in a major way are likely to be getting a full mention in your End Credits anyway, I'm sure.

But no matter what you eventually decide on, I look forward to seeing how you implement things eventually.

How about a production company name that's entirely different altogether? Something a little more neutral and universal.

Like "A Revisited Production" or something like that?

Ultimately it doesn't matter whether it's AD1 or Adywan. People still know this is your baby. The name has never detracted from the help you've been given or your gratitude for said help as you've always credited people both on the forums and in your credits and text commentary. Changing the name is a humble act, and I applaud you for it, but ultimately it makes very little difference. I did love the old Adywan logo, but I'm sure the new one will be even better based on your greater experience and more professional people coming on board since word has spread.

I'd just be a little concerned about propagating the image of being a professional studio as maybe that will make Lucas's lawyers more likely to come down on you with a cease and desist order.

On the other hand, is this an insanely clever way to make authorship of the project more ambiguous and therefore anonymous? With it being seen (or at least admitted to be) a joint project, they're less likely to be able to come after one person on the basis of their pseudonym as many other people will also be involved (and presumably carry on without him and release it anyway anonymously) and it would protect Ady (or Adrian) from any legal action as he's now absolving himself of sole autership of this project. He's just one player now and therefore couldn't be held responsible for the project continuing and still being released after his (apparent) cessation. ;-)

My understanding of copyright law is limited, but if this is the reason and it's watertight, then fair play. Nicely done.

I really like the name change as anything that adds professionalism is ok in my book when it comes to my viewing experience. As long as it isn't at the expense of this project seeing the light of day, I'll be a happy bunny.

I think on a certain level it works better to go with "Adywan Productions", especially because the films are made by "Lucasfilm". There are so many people involved, but George Lucas was the man in charge - the name was derived from the man with the vision.

I happen to enjoy the parallel :)

I think in this case Ady is doing what is right in contrast to what is easier. Sometimes, you just have to do what is right. I like the decision.

Wont you have any legal problems by stating that its a small production company?
Its not that it changes anything, but you know how this legal things are, and fanedits are already in a very thin line of legality.

I don't normally pop in on the Revisited threads, but I wanted to say I think Bingowings raises a good point. I can't think of any alternative names to offer, but you guys should read his post in detail.

Bingowings said:

It's still Adywan but spelt differently, phonetically it's identical.

I don't really agree it's phonetically identical myself.  It's a subtle thing, but I read 'AD1' as sounding like 'ADY-WON' (or 'ADY-WUN' if you prefer), rather than sounding like 'ADY-WAN'.

However, as a fellow Scot, I know some broader regional accents here would pronounce the number '1' as 'WAN' rather than 'WON' (or 'WUN').  But where I'm from, we generally don't.

Splitting hairs perhaps, but that's how I see it.  No biggie at the end of the day though.
