The Holy DrinkerI guess they deemed it wasn't necessary given that they were so overconfident their technological terror was going to get the job done but to no avail. :p
And I just read that Ady wasn't going to be making any further additions to ANHR:SE so I guess the suggestions I made won't be happening. Ah well.... ;)

Your powers are weak...Wouldn't it be cool if there was a tease of the Executor just with Vader's Tie Fighter docking with it or something.

I thought I read that he won't make any new changes but he will undo at least one - changing the torture droid's new "mini-saber" back into a standard needle.

I'm not sure that it was change it BACK...or just CHANGE it. And he's confirmed a few changes. Ben's hut won't be the original, nor the special edition....it will be an all new matte. He's going to try to rework the editing so that 3P0's reaction to R2 getting shot is back to what it was, and he wants that last iconic shot of Tarkin back where it belongs just before the DS blows up. Theres prob a few others but I can't recall them at the moment (the SW:R Wordpress site has them listed)

my fuzzy memory is nagging at me that it HAD been in a trailer or preview clip, but that ultimately Ady decided not to use it since it made little sense that the Executor would have stood by doing nothing while the DS was being attacked.
I think you're right. IIRC, it was in the very first teaser. It's on the Revisited DVD for sure, just not part of the actual final Revisited edit.

We want the originals, please restore them. This is a update form Adywan on Facebook
UPDATE:
After talking to the 2nd & 3rd units that are working with me on these projects, they don't want the name to be changed from Adywan to AD1. So things will stay the same and no changes to the name will be made.
Do You Think We Should Make a Petition for the O.U.T To Be Restored at https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/ Website?

You're right about Luke not knowing about the force, however the Expanded Universe has no bearing on the designation of the R5 unit. The unit's designation was R5-D4. This was decided by Lucasfilm when the original line of figures was released in 1978. Even though it isn't mentioned in the movie, it's possible a 19 year old Luke could make the mistake of referring to this droid as an R2 unit even though it was of a different make.

I'm wondering...isn't anyone worried about Lucasfilm filing a copyright infringement case here? Did anybody get permission to edit this film which is the property of someone else? Last time I checked, it was a punishable offense to alter a motion picture without permission and is enforced by Interpol? You guys are playing with fire here.

It's sort of a gray area, but we try our best to be reasonable with it--the fan editors here at OT.com never make a profit from their work and have always strongly encouraged others to legally purchase a copy of any and all films that they download fan edits of.
On a personal note, I've been a huge Star Wars fan since I was five. I've purchased TPM and both the original unaltered trilogy and the '97 special edition on VHS, all three prequels on DVD, both the box set and individual releases of the original trilogy on DVD, and the complete saga blu-ray box set. That's not even taking into account the piles of money I've spent on buying Star Wars toys, video games, t-shirts, costumes, and countless other collectibles over the years. In other words, Lucasfilm has made their money from me, and will continue to do so; neither this nor any other fan edit is interfering with that. I therefore feel no guilt in downloading fan edits for my own personal viewing, and I think the majority of us here feel more or less the same.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralitySo I've been getting into the podcasting scene, and finally decided the time has come to record an audio commentary for ANHR.
I'm working with Max & Mike from Commentary Track Stars to record an interview/commentary with them discussing what I know about the edit (but not everything I know, of course). Unfortunately, Ady is too busy with his new house / ESBR to contribute, but it should be a lot of fun.
I'll keep you posted.

Hey I've got an idea, I know its in the wrong thread but the past load of post are also, but in ANH Aunt Beru distinctly asked Luke to remind Uncle Owen to make sure the translator droid speaks bocce.....is there any way that someone could get luke to say this to Owen?
I haven't a clue where such an aside would be placed even if it could be phonetically constructed.
Regarding the electro-needle this was posted in the ESB:R thread :

Maybe some sort of heated prong could be inserted into the shot instead of the needle
Say goodbye, to all this and "hello" to Jason Issacs.

Just to add something to this little aspect at this point - a while back I was lucky enough to get a screenshot preview of the way that adywan intends to re-do his version of the 'Torture Droid's needle.
Although I can't divulge it's description, I'd just like to confirm that most people should absolutely love his latest version! It looks terrific and I'm looking forward to seeing it in motion. :)
