SSWR edit ideas

Younger members of the forum may not remember, but there used to be a guy here called SomethingStarWarsRelated. He had a really good vision, and came up with some really good edit ideas.

Most edits were quite subtle, but had the potential to tell another story and set another tone.

One day he, and his youtube account, just vansihed. Luckily I didn't have internet back then and had to download his videos and manually store them to watch multiple times. There are loads however that I don't have, and I think it would be great to preserve them (especially the proposed ending for ROTS)

If anyone has copies of his videos that are not listed here, please let me know as there are some I really want to locate.

If you are still out there SSWR, I hope you don't mind them being shared again. I do hope you will return to come and waste more time with us!

RE: SSWR edit ideas

The Fox Copyright brigade gobbled up the last half of them. :(

I believe this can be avoided by privately listing them (at least I believe that's what frink said).

Say goodbye, to all this and "hello" to Jason Issacs.

All the links i've posted I should still be there. I am missing a bunch of the ROTJ ones, hence the gaps.

Ok, they're all UNLISTED, which means you can only see them from the links in the first post.

* Sorry you are right, FOX has eaten them. I'll see about placing them elsewhere.

It is weird how they choose which clips to munch.

It's not as if they were drawing much attention to themselves with the titles.

Say goodbye, to all this and "hello" to Jason Issacs.

Its because they compare your clip with a copy of the film/music you used, that they have, and if there is a match, the take it down/block it.

However there are fixes for this:

Video:
#1 You can flip/mirror the video, and it should go through
#2 You can use the dispute process (though it may end badly)

Audio/Music:
#1 Speed up the audio/music 1 or 3 percent in audacity.
#2 You can use the dispute process (though it may end badly)

Or just post them on vimeo.com

Mostly in dialogue. He really knew how to work those AOTC scenes.

Right. I like how he edited the sequence right before Anakin and Padme leave Naboo to go find his mother. It flows very smoothly and seems more natural. And the music doesn't suck either.

Hey guys. Updated all the links in the first post, hosting over at google docs now, so that might stick!

Let me know if there are problems.

Wow. Those are all amazing. While I disagree with some of the choices, others are masterpieces. I would say that the best is Anakin's turn; I was skeptical of removing Padme's role in the event before, but now I think it's a requirement.

That's a really good C3PO voice, too.
