As if we didn't all see this coming...
I wonder what we'll all talk about after the fact? That it doesn't have all the audio mixes we love? :) lol

I believe that logic dictates that, now that Lucas is out of the picture, we will see the OUT on Blu-ray. However, we've been burned enough, and I won't get excited until I know for sure it's actually happening.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityI'm fairly certain that Harmy would no longer need sources if we had the originals. That's kind of the point.SpilkaBilka said:

I got censored for saying it on bluray.com so will say it here:
Bill Hunt has a black spot for Fox
He reviewd the DNR mess of Patton and said it was great
He lied and said all 4 Alien films had a new master, only 2 did
He says every year for the last 4 years that True Lies and the Abyss are coming out this year and that he has in inside tip.
Guy just makes up shit for hits, or he trusts someone that is full of shit.
Either way until there is a real Announcement from FOX then I do not trust his bullshit

Padawan LearnerI feel like an idiot for asking this but ...
... who is Bill Hunt ? Google and Wikipedia are not very helpful since it appears to be quite a common name

It will be interesting to see how Kathleen Kennedy handles the question, which is sure to come up, at the big convention next week. I think this is her first appearance. I hope she doesn't get scared off. She looks out on a sea of guys arguing about prequels and special editions, mutters "I've made a huge mistake."

It was a joke. I was implying that Disney would probably screw up such a release in some manner, but it would at least be another source to work with.
I mean, Disney's track record isn't that great with BD releases, is it? Someone on this forum posted a discussion about a BD of release of Cinderella (or maybe it was Snow White or Sleeping Beauty or something?). They compared it to the VHS and DVD and it looked awful because they DVNR'd it to hell.
Of course, this is just me being pessimistic. I am absolutely DELIGHTED that the OUT could get a BD release soon. Honestly, it's amazing news. It's what we've all been waiting for. That being said, I'm sure it will have some flaws that fans like Harmy will see as worth being corrected.

Let's be clear: This was discussion between people in the industry, not actual Disney or LFL saying anything.

That's too broad a generalization. Disney has released a LOT of absolutely stunning looking restorations of their animated movies as well, so it could go either way.

I am ready for the trials! At least (hopefully) it won't be letterboxed like last time. I'd rather have a DNR'd OT than have them sit in a basement at LFL's offices.
Sounding like a broken record since May 2006.

Ce n'est pas DuracellEnergizerEven if this is legit, it still isn't the best news for me - personally - as I don't own a Blu-Ray player and probably won't own one for some years to come.

"Take Me To Your Cinema"Whenit's done right it's an amazing format. Blade Runner, Harakiri, The Godfather... something else on the format. Wouldn't bother buying the Star Wars Blu-Rays though. Actually TPM looks amazing, but who wants to watch TPM.

"Take Me To Your Cinema"I hadn't heard/seen the late 90s format D-VHS 'til last week. The quality is amazing, looks as good as Blu-Ray, maybe better. Ahead of it's time.

This. There have been rumors flying ever since the Disney purchase, but nothing substantive. Until some rep from the corporation says something, I think is fanboy wishful thinking.
