Spence.
Thanks for the replies, I will check out the dan edit.
Another quick question to yourself and others.
Do you still enjoy the film(s) once you finish editing, or is it more satisfaction with the end product. ?

Mr. Speaker, we are for the big.Well, yes and no. When this is done I'll probably watch it a few times with some friends, but after that it will probably be a while till I watch it again. When you spend this much time with a movie, once it's done you kind of want to get away from it for a while. That doesn't mean you're not satisfied or happy with the edit, just burnt out on it I guess.

I wouldn't worry about the length being 90 minutes, man, that's absolutely fine. In my experience 90 minutes is about all that's usable in that film.
I love the way the lightsaber fight plays now! So much more effective and dramatic - albeit a little too succinct.
I've got a feeling this edit will get some rave reviews when it comes out. Should be a good time.

Slayer of DeaditesAgreed; 90 minutes is fine.

Mr. Speaker, we are for the big.I've always felt I'd rather see 90 good minutes than have a bunch of filler in there. And again, it's the right length for the story. I've even kept some scenes I'd rather cut just to keep the pace moving right.

Mr. Speaker, we are for the big.I'm going to work on the trailer some more today, I'd like that done by tomorrow or the next day.
I'm also going to start work on my commentary. I think that should be fun. I'm a little goofy in person, so it should be fun and informative!
Also I'm recording a video introduction, and probably a video tutorial on the basics of fanediting. It would cover everything from ripping the dvd to basic editing in Womble. I think this could be helpful for new editors, as I always wish that I had something like that to visually show me how to get started. Is that something people would find interesting?

is automatic for the people.I'd be interested in seeing a tutorial. I've got a few fan edits of my own I'd like to do, but I've always hit some glitch as I got started.

Bo shoo da.Totally want the tutorial. I'm dreaming of doing an Episode I cut that will connect with Trooperman's Episdoe II ...and now Spence's Episode VI.
There's no doubt that a legion of lurkers will love a tutorial. You would midwife a thousand fan-edits if you showed us the DIY steps.

The Death Star behind Palpy looks like it has some small compositing issues just behind Palpy's arm. Is that just a youtube issue?

Magister Pontifex MaximusYou know the awful (in it's current context) line added to ESB:SE instead of "Bring my shuttle"?
It might work in the context of the conversation between the Commander Luke surrenders to and Vader in this edit.
If he isn't making a secret of not going to the Death Star it could just point out that he isn't going there to the audience and for the commander to ready Vader's shuttle for his departure at dawn.
Say goodbye, to all this and "hello" to Jason Issacs.

Mr. Speaker, we are for the big.I actually have no idea what that line is. I don't follow all the little changes in the SE's, and I didn't realize that line had been changed. What does he say instead now?

Mr. Speaker, we are for the big.um... is that specific to the trailer or the preview clip? The trailer is just kind of thrown together, but I put quite a bit of work into the preview clip.

The sounds seems to be like random sfx placed in the movie. It lacks the rythm and the music tones that every other duel has ( im not telling that anything about music in the duels here :P) . If you can manage to see the dueling sound effects like an orchestra you will be able to have results more coordinated from the "place and go" way of thinking ;)
