Actually Dave Filoni wasked for something like that, but GL denied because of the timeline. But it would be interesting to have something like that. Maybe another series pre-TPM.

Dave's pretty good about keeping with these things. That's why Grevious and Anakin can never meet in the series because they first met in ROTS. It seems to me that the only reason Qui-Gon is able to communicate with Obi-Wan is that area they're in acts as a conduit that allows him to appear but only in that location. So later on when Yoda reveals he's been talking to Qui-Gon, Obi-wan is still justifiably taken aback because Qui-Gon was able to materialize on his own.

Qui Gon cannot manifest himself as an image and only as a voice, he never was able to merge his whole self with the force.  His body did not disappear and was burned.

This is seriously bullshit, and not in continuity with revenge of the sith, the saga or the novelization.

But Anikin didn't disappear and he still came back as a ghost.

I really couldn't care any less about any of this though.

Anyway, that shot is ambiguous, because he could very well still be dead.

Yes, They only really strongly hinted at certain things.

At this point I don't care much whether the series contradicts the films now that the story is actually going somewhere.

With Maul and Qui Gon it'll be just like old times, only different.

The Clone Wars is a great series. Not only is it some good Star Wars action, but it really puts some of the crap that was in the prequels into perspective, and makes it make sense. And if you like the EU, there are a ton of references and characters and whatnot from it. Dave really knows what he's doing, I think.

There are some stumbling blocks, like the Jar Jar episodes... but they're not awful and some of the other episodes certainly make up for them. The jumping around is a little weird, too... the non-chronology doesn't jive well with me, but apparently from now on they'll be in order.

It's definitely worth watching the first season at least.

Aside from those episode where Jar Jar wasn't voiced by Best, they were actually not bad at all.

In fact, Supply Lines is one of my favourite episodes this season, and Jar Jar was in it.

I happen to agree. The episode actually made Jar Jar seem... well... like an okay character.

Yoda's lines to Obi-Wan at the end of ROTS was the biggest "Oh, wait!  I forgot to ever explain like the FIRST mystery that was ever in Star Wars and now the movies are over!  Um, ok, here's a speech!"

I had NO idea what the hell he was talking about.  I had to have it EXPLAINED to me.  (And I followed all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies without missing a beat.  Did you catch that Will is killed with the sword that he made at the beginning of P1?)

So if Clone Wars screws that up, I'm all for it!

The Maul as a cyborg is not canon though.  Since Lucas is involved in the clone wars and if Maul returns then it is sadly canon.  Hence Lucas destroys his own continuity and canon.  It is okay if its EU because that is ancillary but the main story is shot to hell by these cartoons.

There is no main story, the only main story is in your mind, you must unlearn what you have learned.

The way I look at The Clone Wars series is the same way I look at the Marvel Comics between and after the films.

They are fun, on the whole and feel more like Star Wars than many of the other things that carry the brand name (which lets face that's what those two words have been since a long time ago).

They certainly have more of a Star Wars feel than the PT films.

They don't destroy anything that really exists (the PT films DID kill the promise of good Episodes 1 to 3 which was dangled before us as soon as they changed the crawl for the first film).

G-Canon are only the movies. Not the TV series. And I agree with Bingowings, each person decides what's their canon.

And may I ask how is George destroying his own continuity?
