Question about AVCHD & DVD5

What is the consensus on DVD5 discs being used for AVCHD?  Is the loss of quality really that noticeable?  I know DVD9 is the way to go but was just curious how bad a 2 hour movie with just 1 dolby or dts track would look?

Too many variables to answer - how big is your screen, what's the viewing distance, does the movie have a lot of fast-moving pans or action?

I would say that a DVD5-sized AVCHD for a 90 minute movie, at 720p, with a single Dolby or DTS track in general would be acceptable quality. YMMV.
