I always thought CA was actually an animated squid-man doctor. ;-)

But seriously, whenever I read your posts, I hear Dr. Zoidberg in my head.

You will not. None of us will, except for a very old and dying Ziggy Stardust who will watch it through teary eyes as he remembers us all.

Surely you're not suggesting that the notion of a largely male population on an online Star Wars messageboard is surprising...? :P

This makes me very happy for some reason.

Did everyone hear my posts in Fry's voice when I had him as my avatar?

Guilty.

TML, how old are you, if you don't mind my asking?  I'm going to guess 16 based on your picture.

Yes; TML. How old are you? I'm guessing 14 or 15. I'm curious to see if I'm younger than you :)

EDIT: No guys, I'm not Alfred Hitchcock. I'm not nearly that old, quite young in fact.

And yes.  Beard.

nope, no beard.   sorry that will never happen.   Yes Warbler is not my real name.   So what?   Are you really named Sluggo?  The pic in my avatar is really me.

I'm surprised that a teenager actually cares about classic cinema and film preservation.

I think I was 18 when I first stumbled onto this site.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won't last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you'll be able to project it on a 20' by 40' screen with perfect quality. I think it's the director's prerogative, not the studio's to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I'm a teenager and I've always been interested in film preservation. It's quite the interesting hobby. It's probably important that young people are also interested in classic cinema. Otherwise, what's to stop people from destroying the classics later on? The younger generation must always have those few who are interested in all of this stuff; otherwise, all that this site strives for will be forgotten.

Just playing with ya Warb.  Remember our John Warbler conversation?

I wonder if I legally changed my name to Sluggo, would it help me get the babes?

I doubt changing my name to Ash would help me any.

--edit--

Changed my avatar because A) turns out Photobooth mirrors the pictures it takes for some reason, and B) I figured I should show you guys my face without a sandwich in my mouth.

If you're changing your name to Ash, might as well change your last name to Holt. ;-) Just kidding...

RE: Putting a face to the name

Speaking of which, is that the accepted official name for the character, or just a joke that Sam Raimi and/or Bruce Campbell like to say?

The Aluminum Falcon's avatar
RE: Putting a face to the name

Sam Raimi originally intended his name to be Ash Holt when making the first Evil Dead, of course, he didn't actually put that in the movie. Later he decided to change it while writing AOD I believe. The full official name, as of current, is actually Ashley J. Williams.

By the way, did you know Raimi is writing the script for a fourth one? Jeez I can't imagine another one since Campbell is getting old.

RE: Putting a face to the name

Oh, duh.  I knew the Ashley J. Williams name, I don't know why it slipped my mind.

Raimi is currently working on a remake of the first movie, I believe.  He's said that it will be in a separate continuity, and the existence of the remake does not mean that a proper Evil Dead 4 won't be made.
