Better a bad bomb than a bombadI for one dont like the idea of people changing avatars all the time.
To me the point of an avatar is
- at a glance identify who is posting
- it's easier to develop a virtual 'relationship' with an image than with a word I have to read.
When they're always changing it seems counter productive to the purpose of the avatar.
This is of course just my opinion.

OT's bucketbot^I would say it depends on certain criteria. I've been using a different avatar every month for over 4 years at buckethead.tk...but they've all been of Sid. A lot of people say he's like the unofficial symbol of the site. When I hit 10,000 posts, almost 40 people used Sid avatars for several weeks. :)
