I love podcasts.  Here are some of the ones I listen too (without links, because I am not sitting in front of my home pc)

Creative Screenwriting
Bungie Studios
IGN's Daily Fix
IGN Three Red Lights
1Up's L1sten Up (or whatever it's called now)
Official Lost
G4's Fresh Ink
G4's Sessler's Sandbox
G4's X-Play something something
IGN's Tech Fetish
The Onion News Radio
The Onion News Network
HowStuffWorks.com "Stuff they don't want you to know" (This one is new and is AWESOME!!!)
Make Magazine

I listen in my car, and I drive for 1.5 hours a day, so I almost have time to listen to all of these.  But then I'll get an audiobook from the library or I'll go on vacation and I fall way behind.  Then I visit other sites for work and catch up.

Any recommendations?

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Being an NPR junkie, I love DLing and listening to the podcast for Intelligence Squared, that way I don't have to listen to all the ads. Do wish it was unedited though...

The only other podcast I have ever really cared about is the Official Lost Podcast, those things are sometimes more entertaining than the actual show. I have almost wrecked my car from laughing so hard while listening to it while driving (not a good idea).

Do yourself a huge favor and download "The Ricky Gervais Show". They are absolutely hilarious. They recorded three or four series of podcasts and are now doing "The Ricky Gervais Guide to...." audiobooks.

If you want to see what they're like, check out the download page here:

I would recommend downloading an episode from XFM series 2. They used to have a show on a radio station before they started doing podcasts.

Also, the first series isn't available for download anymore because they've been turned into an animated TV series to premier on HBO next month ( Can't wait!)

Speaking of which, can anyone here recommend some good voice recording software? I DL'd one that made me sound like I was shouting into a shoebox full of kittens. I don't know what that means, but the sound quality was garbage.

Yeah, they're pretty funny.  I regret that there won't really be a zombie season... and that we'll never get to see that orangutan in an ascot... and that the mystery of the Hurley Bird will never be answered on the show.

Maybe we should start an OT.com podcast!

Wait... what would we talk about week to week...?  Maybe we could interview prominent members of our community, such as myself and Ric Olie.

No way! If we had an OT.com podcast we'd be too much like those crazy orcs!

Only if it's a video podcast.  I don't want to rob my fans of another chance to see my handsome features.

On second thought, C3PX makes a good point.  If we do an OT.com podcast, we should only talk about WOW.

I like www.skeptoid.com about critical thinking.

www.PendantAudio.com has some fun and high quality fan made radio dramas, including a long running Star Wars show.

That's that Blue Harvest, right?  I tried, help me I did.  I could only make it through about 3 10 minute episodes.

I listen to the Car Talk podcast and Wil Wheaton's Radio Free Burrito while I'm cleaning house or mowing the lawn.  That's about it.

Any good film review podcasts out there? Sound quality isn't a priority as I'm mainly looking for good content. That means no Top 5s/10s/whatevers, no best ofs, no forced humor, as little filler as possible etc. The closest I ever got to finding a decent movie podcast was the review bits from this thing:

http://www.filmspotting.net/

The problem is, the reviews lasted around 20 minutes and the rest was absolutely worthless (Top 5 x, best movies about y, crappy contests etc.) so I just stopped listening at some point. Any recommendations?

I like "This is That." It's a CBC "news" comedy which is just believable enough that some people fall for it and think it's real, but is hilarious if you are cognizant of its true nature. The voices of people they "interview" are pretty entertaining as well and so are the stories they "cover."

Oops, double post.

I should also mention also that it is clean comedy, which I appreciate since it seems to be rather uncommon nowadays.

I love "Ray's Original Podcast" so much.

Don’t do drugs, unless you’re with me.

With the US Election looming, I’ve added a bunch of political podcasts to my library.

-Five Thirty Eight Election Podcast
-NPR Political Podcast
-Keeping It 1600 (terrible name)
-Politico Nerdcast (worse name)
-NYT The Run-Up
-Princeton WooCast (confusing name)

I lost my main daily sports podcast when Steve Czaban was fired from SB Nation radio a month or two ago, but a few weeks later his former co-hosts got their own SBN podcast so I’ve been listening to that. I also added Tony Kornheiser’s new podcast but I don’t have time to listen to all of this + Bill Simmons + We Hate Movies + The Expanded Fandomverse (Star Wars) + Fantasy Focus Football.

I barely remember this thread! Here’s the big players in my subscription list:

  • The Adventure Zone - The McElroy family plays D&D
  • Kill By Kill - Coverage of every kill in the Friday the 13th franchise
  • My Brother, My Brother and Me - The McElroy brothers give questionable advice
  • My Dad Wrote A Porno - British guy reads his father’s badly-written erotica to his friends
  • Oh No Ross and Carrie - Two friends in LA try pseudo-sciences and pseudo-religions
  • Rose Buddies - Griffin & Rachel McElroy recap episodes of reality dating shows
  • We Hate Movies - New Yorkers mock the bad movies you grew up with

My Dad Wrote a Porno sounds hilarious.

He should read some of the fan fiction here as well.
