The Facehugger box set usually shows up on Ebay. I've seen at least 5 or 6 floating around on there.

The Alien DVD (at least where I live) is still readily available in stores. I had the chance to get a copy for $3.99 CAN at an HMV store, but decided not to because I already had the Quadrilogy. I kicked myself for that one, but then again, I scored the T2 OOP Ultimate Edition with metal case for $5.99 at a Loblaws supermarket, so I don't feel so bad.

Probably the Alien Evolution documentary, I guess. Was there the strange moving background behind the interviewed actors and filmmakers all the time? (The background resembles shots of microscopic organisms in either dark red or blue or green light.)

Alien Appendix Disc #2 Alien Redux "The Virtual Workprint" but it has no seeders or leechers and its dual layer. Finally, it is extended and runs longer than both the theatrical and DC versions. I gott a get me this!

i certainly would appreciate more appendixes to come out. it has been a long time since the last one was released. some more extra materials, documentaries and stuff would be welcomed.

I am still here, but Meedermow disappeared somehow. He is alive, a month ago he sold few items on eBay. I guess we cannot continue without him and without Jonno, because we do not have some of the already prepared videos. I really hate the idea to start all the work again. Maybe I should write an email to them.
My hunt for that fucking Making of Alien Resurrection laserdisc is a neverending story and I am tired already. I bought two copies in the past 6 months and I still do have nothing. The first seller turned to be a thief and never sent anything to me, the second sent the LD two months ago but the logistic company returned the parcel to him two days before Christmas. They wrote to him that I refused to accept the shipment! Unbelievable. I never met a messenger from this company. And meanwhile, the friend of mine who always made the LD to DVD-R copies for me, decided to sell his LD player because he did not need it anymore. Thus when the guy sends the LD again to me (first week of January), I am without an equipment to watch it or record it. Bad luck?
Good news: I spent lots and lots of money to get two very interesting promo VHS tapes. One for Alien DC, the second for Alien 3. Both contain a trailer, a featurette and few short interviews. The second one also some behind the scenes stuff. Currently I am negotiating with a guy who claims to have the original U-matic tape Making of Aliens and he is able to transfer it onto a DVD. He also have some Alien War documentary (content or lenght unknown). Unfortunately he asks 50 dollars for the two discs and this is a bit more than I am willing to pay. Especially because there is no guaranty from his side. He can simply take the money and never send anything to me. We will see.

anyone who needs help with laserdisc transfers, I'd be more than happy to lend my assistance. Same with VHS or SVHS.

I haven't heard from Meedermow since the summer, I don't really know what's happening with his involvement just now. I hope he's still reading the forum at least, and that he might get back on board when he has a chance to.

Since Meeder was pushing forward with a fairly constant release plan, I've been quite happy to take a back seat and follow his lead until now. I think the last release planned was vol.3, i.e. the CBS Aliens. Did anyone ever get a copy of this? I know he already put a lot of work into it, but as to whether it was finished... It certainly didn't make it as far as a torrent.

Anyway, I agree that the best approach in his absence now would be a return to supplement-based discs, using the materials in hand. I summarised the current collection in a previous post (this is all the stuff I actually have on my hard drive, ready to use), here it is again. There may be many omissions, e.g. I haven't added the material from Triffid to this list yet, I need to download TB1971's Alien War find, and I'm sure there's even more out there (which may or may not have been mentioned before).

It's been too damn long. Hope you're all well.

Apologies for the absence, a major (life) project took over and limited my availability to the more important things (i.e this !) so severely that many things had to take a back-seat and unfortunately this was one of them.

However, Phoenix like, I return !

Anyone who picked up any of the previous Alien discs will know that quality is the name of the game as opposed to a quick turnaround.

I totally agree with tb1971 that we got sidetracked from the original intentions but it all comes down to time/willingness/content/promises - you've always backed up what you've promised as has many other members of this board (jonno, triffid, ash etc) however a lot of the archival material was waiting for promised better versions/new transfers etc from others that never materialised. So it just hung in limbo with a lot of quality items unable to be rounded out since they only amounted to a few 10s of minutes of material as opposed to a healthy disc worths. Not an excuse really, more of a frustration.

On a bright note the feedback from Alien Redux was fantastically enthusiastic and spread round a large network of fans to the extent that someone that I worked with professionally recently enthused about it not knowing that I had anything to do with the project in the firstplace !

triffid & Jonno - good to see you are still around too !

digitalfreaknyc - indeed there was a NTSC Evolution disc made, I'm suprised it didn't reach you via the usual contacts/methods, suffice to say there is one here with your name on it - I'll send you a PM.

Hola to bigrob and ash595 - apologies I never got back to you in the last few months, but will be a far improved correspondent now certain things are sorted out.

I'm very happy to work with Jonno to get this thing back on track. CBS Aliens was finished as a disc, just needed a menu and front-end (which was taking the most time to do as those that have seen the first Appendice discs will probably understand !) it could be rolled out as Disc#3 - the quality isn't great, though would be going down the fan edit/re-cut route again. More of an interest to see with the original adverts in place and the edit that CBS chose (most of the Extended Edition reinstated and language cut) - I'm happy to be led in whichever way you'd like to go. tb's material is so good that it needs to be put out soon, but it would be great to have the sufficient support material in place to do a disc per film.
