Managed to work both Naboobian and Now There Are Two of Them into this one:

TRM Clip 71

Now I gotta find a place for "I care."

OT.com meme: luke sad pic/I care/WRONG PICTURE

I believe xhonzi started this one, just saying "I care" in response to someone posting "no one cares" or "who cares."  I couldn't find the relevant picture so I just used the one of sad Luke being consoled by Leia after Ben died, which led to a brief "WRONG PICTURE" debate IIRC.

Ah, that would've been me :D

I think it was in a thread about protecting the users' kids from the prequels, something with xhonzi castrating an action figure of Yoda - although I don't remember how it was called right now.
Or it might've been a parallel thread from the same time period...

I also remember how everyone started quoting "WRONG PICTURE!!" immediately after, so yea, that's probably the origin :)

Yes, you are correct...

...sort of.  As far as I can tell, you indeed were the one to first say something about it being a wrong picture.  But you didn't create the meme, or rather you did so accidentally.  We all knew it was the wrong picture, which is what I was saying above.

Also don't see any of those mass quotations anywhere in the next pages, guess that must've been some other thread or something... memory can be deceiving! :D
Gee, I'm confused.

I did the following google search:

site:originaltrilogy.com wrong picture

It does show up sporadically in other threads over the following few weeks.

We all forgot the "Everyone is Bingowing's Sock" meme.

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Rewrite the Prequels!

I feel like a late-comer to most of the established gags, friendships, and personality quirks at this site.  Though I understand the meaning of most of these gags, I find that this thread sadly does not live up to its advertisement insofar as few of the mentioned jokes have their origins revealed.  That's okay because I don't really care where "colars" or "carp" came from, I just think they're good and fun.  However, I really find the quoted sentence construction very funny, and I smile every time I see it.  I just have to know, where did this ridiculous syntax come from?  I love it!

The ROTJ collaborative thread is a wealth of ideas, both on how to edit Return of the Jedi, as well as how to collaborate in an edit.  Emanswfan has taken leadership of the project.

You will not. None of us will, except for a very old and dying Ziggy Stardust who will watch it through teary eyes as he remembers us all.

vote_for_palpatine, who mysteriously disappeared mid-webcast  coined the phrase "Lazy George, was lazy" if I am not mistaken. And "colars" is one of kenkraly's gems. Sheesh, I'm a newcomer and I know these things. You must need to spend more time here, not less ;)

My similar-named friend here is correct, though you have to capitalize the second adjective. This thread has fallen away from its purer motive. Perhaps xhonzi can bring it back around.

I suspect my ignorance comes from the fact that I've largely lost interest in the General Star Wars Discussion forum.  Thanks for the info.  Was Palpatine's campaign manager trying to be funny, or was it another one of those humorous grammatical anomalies often introduced by non-native English speakers?

vfp made it a meme by making fun of the original creator.  I'll see if I can dig it up.

RE: OT.com memes (definition and origin)

I was watching Frasier last night and missing VFP. You see, Ender, VFP had a few humorous socks, one of them being "Dr. Frasier Crane". I was invited to play "Dr. Niles Crane" (my first and only sock) one afternoon. That was as long as it lasted. My "brother" and I fought on some music appreciation thread and got banned after only a few hours. Moth3r didn't think we were funny.

Ric Olie and Biff Tannen remain the only obvious socks that are still around, though Biff's identity remains hidden, as far as I know.

... And they had 'The Empire Strikes Back', the fifth of the four Star Wars films. He is fucking with us numerically, isn't he! "Children, count up to ten." "Four, five, six, one, two, three, ten". No, it goes, four, five, six, one, two, three… No, it goes: four, five, six. One... Two and three have not been made." "Two and three have not been made! What should they be?" "What should they be? We do not know. All we know is that there will be a big floppy character in it that goes, squawk squawk squawk... who needs a punch up the bracket!"

Wow, the plot thickens.  I had no idea such silliness were possible.  That's why I love the Off-topic forum at OT.com!  Sounds like things have simmered somewhat since then.

???

Why would you turn it down? How easy is it to jump in every few months, ignore random people and call someone "butthead"? ;-)

I would beg Moth3r to unlock Niles for me, but it wouldn't be the same without VFP...

Well, I wanted to ask who Ric is, but then I felt like I was already pushing my luck asking what is apparently obvious to everyone else (Thanks, DoubleKO!).  But...I guess I don't have to ask any longer.
