True but three years later he is still only a Commander and a squadron leader (and only really recently if you include the Radio scripts into your personal canon).

Things only get this silly in ROTJ where everyone with a stripe up HIS trousers becomes a General.

RE: Silverwook:  Yes, to Bingowings you listen!  To paraphrase my favorite Trek reviewer, SFDebris:  It looked like they promoted Kirk just to put an ass in the seat... in more ways than one.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming... Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Sorry about that. It was too soon for another evil bald guy in a Trek movie anyway! Not to mention a big creepy all black spaceship right out of a Disaster Area concert. ;)

It's the same old song, Bald Romulan subject meets girl Romulan subject  beneath a silvery moon, which then explodes for no adequately explored reason.

Say goodbye, to all this and "hello" to Jason Issacs.

I may be responsible, I've been calling Nero and the Romulans Shinzon and the Remans just for kicks on account of their similarities.

And they're both such great band names!

Nah, Nero and the Romulans are totally unoriginal, from their name on down. Just listening to their music, you can tell they are trying to cheaply mimic Shinzon and the Remans (who themselves were very heavily inspired by Khan and the Supermen).

;)

The funny thing about KatS is that their comeback album was waaaaay better than any of their older stuff. You don't often see that with bands.

So true! I didn't really think much of them back in the day, but their comeback album is one of my all time favorites.

Remember that nineties band Dr. Soran and the Duras Sisters?

I'm personally more fond of the aliteratative musical stylings of Kruge and the Klingons.

Yeah. Man, did they ever suck...

The mentioning of Kurge and the Klingons for some reason reminded me of that really silly band, Spock and the Humpbacks.

Reminds me of that one-hit-wonder group Worf and the Ambassadorial Targ Hunters. Sadly they got disbanded in favour of the quest for acquiring recently re-illegalized Romulan Ale.
