Another goodie from the CE2 panel. "YUB NUB" with the English lyrics. Just listen to those cheers when a certain Sebastian Shaw appears :) Let's just hope Disney was listening....

I'm so pumped.  I wonder why they didn't include this stuff in on the BDs.  At least we're finally getting them.

The ROTJ collaborative thread is a wealth of ideas, both on how to edit Return of the Jedi, as well as how to collaborate in an edit.  Emanswfan has taken leadership of the project.

Some footage shown at CE2 that will be in the digital edition of the making of book. We finally get to see the deleted scene of Luke jumping up to the floor grille during the Rancor scene in ROTJ.

This has now been taken off youtube.

I was a little embarrassed to be the one who started the cheering.

I was saying Boo-urns.

... And they had 'The Empire Strikes Back', the fifth of the four Star Wars films. He is fucking with us numerically, isn't he! "Children, count up to ten." "Four, five, six, one, two, three, ten". No, it goes, four, five, six, one, two, three… No, it goes: four, five, six. One... Two and three have not been made." "Two and three have not been made! What should they be?" "What should they be? We do not know. All we know is that there will be a big floppy character in it that goes, squawk squawk squawk... who needs a punch up the bracket!"

Was that a gorilla suit in the rough cut?

It looked like the 1976 King Kong spliced into the scene.

Bit of a tangent, but that link led me here: http://www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20647938_20361457,00.html?stitched#20770650

It's a similar collection of pictures for the Empire book, but what's interesting is the specific picture. It's a picture of Irvin Kirshner's copy of an early version of the script, and what stuck out to me was the line where Yoda says "the tree, remember your failure at the tree." In the final movie, that line had the word "cave" instead of tree.

You're probably wondering what's so interesting about this, and here's the answer: there's a note in the annotated Heir to the Empire where Timothy Zahn talks about why he described the cave as having a tree growing out of the top of it. He says it was because the track on the soundtrack album used in that scene was "The Magic Tree," and he wanted to gracefully solve a discrepancy that had bugged him growing up listening to the album over and over again. Looks like we now finally have the real answer, which is that the title of the song is a holdover from an earlier version of the script.

Anyone planning on purchasing them?  I sure do, but until I actually am gainfully employed, I cannot.  I thought nurses could get hired anywhere, but apparently not in my town :(

I think I ll wait for digital version. It is much more convenient for me. And if there is really more material in digital edition than in printed book, another reason more to buy digital.

Prequel Trilogy was supposed to be a story about a good man turning bad. In reality, it is a story about how a complete jerk (PT Anakin) turned into one of the best characters in film history (OT Vader)

And they're RIDICULOUSLY cheap right now, comparatively.

I have a few questions about the digital books...

1) If I assume correctly, these 'enhanced' editions will have all the same content as their hardcover copies but with additional stuff like video and audio clips?

2) I don't know anything about these new interactive electronic books (I have a Kindle e-reader and an iPad), will I have a better experience with iBooks or the Kindle app, or does it even make a difference?

Think it's hard to say, this kind of thing seems pretty new (a coffee table book with video on a flat little computer, very Jetsons) but this will be a good test case. I was excited to run out and get the book on Tuesday but I just remembered every book store near me has gone under recently.

I've had the book on pre-order from Amazon UK. They say I will receive it at the end of the week. These giant books are the way to go for me. I'll just have to hope that I see the digital footage somewhere, somehow.

OK again a dumb question - what exactly will this digital release be? What format? Some Kindle file? Or a CD/DVD? Or a downloadable thing or what? I feel like an idiot but I can't find the info anywhere :-(
