I am ready for the trials! Thanks! I imagine it got lost in the shuffle with all the Blu Ray angst we were going through at the time. ;)

Any idea when this is due to come out? The others hit the 30th anniversary dates, didn't they?

star wars fan since age 2lol, next year ROTJ turns 30!! man, im feelin' old ;P
its interesting for some people ROTJ is worst. I cant agree with that but certainly the decline started with this film. I'll save it for another thread, but ROTJ and AOTC are the 2 sw movies I can talk forever about - good and bad.
despite the flaws, missed opportunities and under-achievement, ROTJ for me was still the best 'part III' sequel until return of the king. maybe its not saying much, but its another example of what made OT different then your typical crap sequels.
and ROTJ is still a highly influential film. return of the king, toy story 3 and the matrix revolution remind me a lot of Jedi. (saw Dark Kinght Rises this summer and it also reminds me a lot of jedi)
the SE of jedi had the worst changes because they impacted the story more. And Jedi conflicts with the PT the most. how are they going to explain the scene where luke asks leia about her real mother? How are they going to explain the decision to make vader's thought process internal while luke was being tortured?

I am ready for the trials! The big questions I would have for Rinzler would be:
Was David Peoples in any way involved with the script?
and (I doubt they'd bring this up)
What's the story behind DP Alan Hume's "falling out" with the production?

Reading Rinzler's Twitter feeds makes me want to be a fly on the wall...
Or just a leech tagging along to "help" him research.

J.W. Rinzler wrote: …And didn’t have to wait long to hear his general verdict: The preproduction section was too long. Nearly twice as long as the chapters on principal photography. It remains to be seen what I’ll cut out (I’ve just started that process).
Hope not much.

I finished reading Making of Star Wars and am making my way through Making of Empire right now. These are some of my favorite books I own. Such a fun read.
Can't wait to read more about behind the scenes with Jedi. Especially the script changes.

Padawan LearnerI like Rinzler, seems pretty cool. I do wish the INDY book had really gotten into the nitty gritty of CRYSTAL SKULL but I think it will be years before anyone does a really thorough autopsy on that.

Jedi KnightI am pissed that the book has been pushed back to October 2013 and won't come out in may 2013. But the Empire book was also delayed.
Still i guess i should be happy the book is getting released at all because there is zero chance for a 30th anniversary blu ray for the actual film being discussed in Rinzler's book. Not that bad 2011 abomination with NOOOOO and Hayden.

The new Star Wars Insider Magazine #116 (UK) #140 (US) has some rare pictures from Return Of The Jedi. The magazine will print pictures that did not make it into the final book.

Summer of 69erA sepia-toned ROTJ would have been so cool.

My Heather Langenkamp avatar has decided to go on an extended vacation and may not be back for sometime. Not to worry, though, for she will be back - eventually.

Great pics.
Looks like the book is still due for October release, although it has been moved forward a week to 1st October.
