Child is the Father of the ManHi all,
I've been replaying this PC gem. And by gem, I mean nostalgia glasses are in full force as i play this mediocre excuse for a game. I've been livestreaming it here, but it's currently offline. If anyone's interested I'll let you know when it's back up.
Videos of what I've played so far are in my history. Sadly, even though I turn off the cursor in settings, Livestream still displays one. I don't know how to change that, and doing this on a Mac is nothing but trouble to begin with so there's no way I'm going to be able to fix that.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityI had this for PS1. What a terrible, awful game. I'd love to see it again!

Child is the Father of the ManIt's a top-down 3D view game. Control is decent mostly, but awkward when platforming challenges get shoed in. It's just not very innovative.

Child is the Father of the ManNo longer live. Next time I'll set a time ahead so it might be easier to join in. Game won't let me save, it crashes.
edit: note new title of thread. Due to complications with Crossover Games I have chosen instead to use my Windows 7 computer and play the PSX version via emulator - a plus for you, Mr. 005. Unfortunately, it makes the game look even worse than it is due to graphical differences; even with smoothing filters, the clipping is atrocious.

I remember that! I also remember the Darth Maul fight at the end being frustrating as hell. I recall sitting there in frustration wondering why my determination to finish the game was so strong when it wasn't very good and I hated the movie. Them was dark days...

Disco Stu likes Disco music!I remember getting stuck in the Jar Jar level, I fell off the path I was supposed to go along, while he kept uttering "Dis way!"
Oh and also the Viceroy would say "Don't hurt me" when you pulled out your lighsaber. Now I wanna find that game and finish it.
... And they had 'The Empire Strikes Back', the fifth of the four Star Wars films. He is fucking with us numerically, isn't he! "Children, count up to ten." "Four, five, six, one, two, three, ten". No, it goes, four, five, six, one, two, three… No, it goes: four, five, six. One... Two and three have not been made." "Two and three have not been made! What should they be?" "What should they be? We do not know. All we know is that there will be a big floppy character in it that goes, squawk squawk squawk... who needs a punch up the bracket!"

@Leonardo: there's this one jump that gets difficult in the swamp level, I think I know what you mean.
When I realized I had f'd up, I didn't even bother to restart the level or heck, even restart the whole game itself since it was one of the first stages anyway. I just gave up on it. I guess I was lazy/easily bored, or this game wasn't that captivating. Maybe all three.

I am ready for the trials!I watched a playthrough on Youtube a while back. I don't know what's more out of place in a kid's game, the Max Rebo lookalike being bathed by alien hotties, or the fact you can kill Anakin's mom!

Child is the Father of the ManNote time. Switched back to PC version because problems seem to deal mostly with the menu and I remembered the quicksave button command so I won't have to pull it up anymore. Will stream for at least one hour. Procaster Mac has no game overlay feature, so I won't be able to chat while playing unfortunately.

Child is the Father of the Man^Tune in and find out! It's an acquired taste. I dont hate it, but you could chalk that up to both nostalgia goggles and my being more a casual gamer.

Child is the Father of the ManFive (almost six)... and hey. You remember the game, too - probably not as fondly as I do, but that's nostalgia too in a way.
I feel no nostalgia for the movie, just the game.

Disco Stu likes Disco music!I was 11 but I don't remember much. I do remember having a really poor grasp of english, so I couldn't follow the game.
I tuned into your broadcast, bkev, and I had no recollection of the game's graphics being so... squarey, if that's even a word. I remember at the time I thought the graphics were pretty great. Not that I have many terms of comparison, the most recent game I've played is GTA VC, which I think is from 2002...
Holy cow, you can shoot Jawas in this game? That's it, I'm getting a copy.

Little known fact: the Dreamcast version of Jedi Power Battles actually has halfway decent controls. The graphics are vamped up a bit too, but the PSX version wasn't exactly ugly.

Well, it wasn't as bad as Obi-Wan...
