Padawan LearnerIs there a transfer of this out there somewhere?
If not, would anyone be interested in seeing an archive of this LD? Since it would be a fairly simple transfer I think I could manage it.
I don't know much about the newsgroups so I would make it a torrent on Demonoid.
Thanks

MGM's Region 1 DVD is advertised as the uncut international version. The disc is letterbox only (no 16x9) with zero extras, save an 8-page booklet.
TGG Direct also has it in a Triple Feature with Leviathan and Burnt Offerings. I don't know if their disc is uncut, but based on some of TGG's other licensed MGM titles, there's a good possibility their version is 16x9...but probably loaded with compression artifacts :/

English, Spanish, French Studio: MGM / UA Looks like the info for it is misleading....says it contains the extra footage but the length only clocks in at 106 minutes.....the LD clocks in @ 116 minutes.

Padawan LearnerIt would seem there are 2 different versions on DVD. A cut version @ 101 minutes and the International Cut @ 116 minutes.
Guess that answers that.......back to the drawing board.

I don't know if this helps at all, but I saw this movie on Hulu a little while ago, and I'm pretty sure it was the international cut.

Padawan LearnerSadly MGM's version is not anamorphic, so it will look like crap on HDTVs. Well hopefully it will turn up on Blu-Ray eventually.

Padawan LearnerGents, this aired on cable, in High Def, uncut, last year. When we moved I had to give up my DVR recording of it and that sucked to high heaven. The transfer was insanely good. Very little DNR and eons better than the DVD (which is not bad for a 4:3 ltbx xfer).
I do not recall what channel this aired on, but SOMEBODY must have it.

Padawan LearnerThanks for the info guys....I know it's not the "greatest" sci-fi movie in the world but it is a cool watch, reminds me of older sci-fi...but for it's time it's a must in any collection.
