Most likely the GOUT disc for ESB has a darker picture then the GOUT disc of SW as I used the same colour settings for Empire as I did the revised SW disc. :)

Oh, I see!  The same color settings are being applied to each film.  Did you not adjust them between the first and second versions of SW though?  I seem to remember that you said something to that effect earlier on.  I can fully understand that you don't want to re-do it though.  Overall it looks great. :)

Sorry if I caused some confusion here! :( Between the 1st and 2nd version of Star Wars I adjusted the white level to be approx. -10IRE of the original GOUT white level. I then saved the settings as a pre-set or colour grade and re-used them without modification for Empire. So basically Empire uses the exact same settings as the revised version of Star Wars. ;)

I hope that clears things up. :)

From the screenshots, this looks amazing. A wonderful effort Lee.

One gripe: Threepio is too yellow and not gold enough.

Guess what I'm watching right now. ;)

Okay it's looking good for Jedi I am about half way through watching the latest version and I am happy with it thus far! Once I am done I will post back to let you all know. Assuming I don't find any problems expect an upload early next week. :)

I finished watching Jedi through and I am happy that there's nothing major I have missed. :D Following on from that I have started uploading the NTSC disc of Jedi to the newsgroup. The PAL disc should follow not long after. ;)

Finally broke down and joined the newsgroup for this and when they're redone your '97 sets (even if I don't have a PAL player...). DLing now

I hope you enjoy the Technicolor discs and find them worth the newsgroup subscription! ;) Just so you know I don't plan to re-author the '97SE DVDs but simply release a set of fixed audio files and instructions on how to apply the fixed audio to the DVD ISO files.

If you have the hard drive space you could download the '97SE DVDs now and then just download the audio fix files when I release them. Just a thought :)

Oh excellent!

LOL, I've already found other useful shiznats that are impossible to find elsewhere, like EditDroid v3 which is still the definitive gout upscale according to zombie. Not to mention all this random documentary material, telecined anh &c. Definitely worth the $10. I bet I have enough HDD space to get everything I want within the month and then cancel the next month's subscription, only resubscribing when new must-haves come out

This is a BUMP.

I have never watched any fan edits, and probably never will, but from the screenshots Lee's version looks like it captures the theatrical look better than any of the others (see official screenshots thread to compare). The skin tones especially; they look completely natural.

Would somebody help me getting this one please ? I'm not a newsgroups user unfortunately :-(

As a non-newsgroup user as well, if anyone uploads this to some sort of file-sharing site or a torrent (which I'd be more than willing to seed), please just give me a heads up too. I never got a chance to see this project and am especially interested in SW and ROTJ.

Is this still happening Lee? I really liked your 97SE versions.

Edit: Just a thought, is it possible to sync the 5.1 from the 2004 versions with these? Although the 5.1 audio of the 1997 SE would indeed be much better - especially for ROTJ over the 2004 one. ;-)

It is, not sure when I will have them done or when they will be released though.

Does anyone still have this in their collection and would be willing to make a sample clip? There are some stills half way through the thread but I wanted to get of a sense of it as it plays.
