Magister Pontifex MaximusI highly recommend the BBC's new weirdonatural show The Fades, which has just started.
It has a real Neil Gaimaneque feel to it.
The best new show opening since the Being Human pilot in my opinion.

Cowboy Bebop is making me mad. That's right, on complaining about a show that isn't even on anymore.....
Ed. She's annoying. She's annoying. Oh dear god, she is annoying.
The first eight episodes of the show were great. They all involved real characters, filled with regret, cynicism, and a shady past of some sort. And then we have Ed.
(She?) takes all the dark out of the show. It already had a perfect balance of comedy before with the character of Ein, and it was very subtle. Now we are stuck with this Jar-Jar Binks wannabe. Hopefully things will get better, and I might warm up to her. But I liked the show better before she came along.

See You, Space Cowboy...Jamming with Edward was my original introduction to the show and I was highly disappointed. It took me 6 years to give it another shot, mainly because my friend brought the series over (this man actually BOUGHT it, that's how much he liked what little he'd seen.) Everywhere but her debut episode she's pretty easy to adjust to - wait for her big day in Mushroom Hunting, then she gets funny.

has been intentionally left blank.Watched a bunch of stuff across the weekend. -
Hawaii Five-0 [season premiere] - 4 balls. as always.
Fringe [season opener] - 2 balls. Fun but a lack of Peter in the show brings it down a bit.
Person of Interest [Pilot Episode] - 2 balls. has potential but pretty weak start. I kinda predicted things that were going to happen and the concept seems a little too far fetched for the setting.
Charlie's Angels - [pilot episode] - 1 ball - Could be good but again - very weak start. This things needs to be re-tooled immediately if they want it to last. shortcomings include the fact that Bosly is now a 'hacker' - which in hollywood terms means he can acess ANY bit of informatino they need just using an iPad. The original Bosley makes a very brief [non speaking] cameo.
The idea this time around is that Charlie hires ex-criminals, ie: cat burglars et al to be his 'angels' - could be good but it's too much like the films - all style no substance.
Two and a half men [sans charlie sheen] 0 balls - this was horrible - if the show continues in this vein it will probably see cacellation - and should.
The killed off the Character of Charlie Harper then proceeded to mock him in a way that is mean spirited and not at all funny - obvious jabs at Sheen himself. And they really didn't give Ashton much to work with so it still feels like there's a big hole in the show.
Fresh Meat [Pilot] 1 ball. britcom / dramedy...not as good as it could be but liking it so far.
Clone Wars [season 4 opener] 1 ball - not a lot happens until the end, just the setup for the rest of the story ark probably. Animation keeps looking batter and better.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityHoly crap! I never got into Two and a Half Men, but I wondered how they were going to handle Sheen being gone. They freaking KILLED HIM OFF?! On a crappy comedy show? Then made fun of it? How does Kutcher's character fit into all this? I was kind of hoping for a "Charlie is a time lord" thing and Kutcher WAS Sheen.Johnny Ringo said:

Heisenberg for PrincipalShmowzow! Adventure Time is mathematical! This fan brought to you by Nanner's costume.
Two and a Half Men was never that good and I expected the jabs at Sheen, but I'm glad they didn't try to replace his character with one that was exactly the same. It's like Kutcher is his opposite, despite being wealthy, attractive etc. I've become more interested in the series in the short term, but it will always be an also-ran for me. I hate Alan and always thought there should be more episodes focusing on Jake.

Time TravelerJust finished watching Terra Nova.
The concept is good and time travel is one of my favorite themes, but something doesn't feel quite right.
The way they handled the "butterfly effect" seemed lazy at best. In general the family was meh except for the stupid teen boy who I want to be eaten by a dino ASAP. Make it slow and painful! The cute girl that will for sure be his love interest reminded me of a young version of Kate Austen, which isn't bad at all as long as they make this one more consistent and intelligent.
The seeded some mystery points there with the Avatar bad guy (Stephen Lang), which apparently now is a good guy but apparently may not be - yes, I know- and his son's disappearance, the symbols and the sixers (awful name btw) which may or may not be on his side undercover.
SFX not terribly bad but not top notch for TV either, I'd say a bit above average. The "Slashers" (a variation of raptor) are much better than the Carnotaurus, maybe because we only see the formers at night. I have to say though, that some of the gren screen stuff was really bad. i'll Have to wait and see more of them.
Still, I think I'll give the series at least another 3 or 4 episodes before deciding for sure if I'll stick with it or bail out, but since this comes from the people that made "V", I don't have much hope for Terra Nova at all.
Pilot = 2 balls

Advanced Padawan LearnerJust watched the season finale of Warehouse 13. Killer!
Season 3 lacks a lot of the humor of the first two seasons, but it gained much more suspense. And "Running Up That Hill" (by Track & Field, but based on Placebo's cover) isn't played during happy times...

TV's Frink got me into the dark side of the force!I watched the latest episode of Castle on Hulu. They delayed Castle's regular airtime for football... I don't mind watching football but, WHY YOU HAVE TO DELAY CASTLE???!!!!! Ugh!!!! So frustrating, I just want to... *Ahem* Nevermind, point being, I watched Castle
. Reminded me of Demolition Man since the episode's murder was about cryogenics.

Anyway, why would that prevent him from taking the character elsewhere? And wouldn't trademark laws (or whatever the equivalent is) be much more relevant?

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityThe character's name was "Charlie", I'm sure that he did that so he could do whatever he wanted with the character, or do a "spiritual sequel" of sorts.TV's Frink said:

Stringer in Space!Chaim Levine's Two and Half Men do not own the rights to any character named Charlie. They do have the rights to a character specifically created by them that just happens to be named Charlie.
I'm hoping for The Carlos Estevez Show
Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

Magister Pontifex MaximusThree episodes in and The Fades is still fun but after one episode of Philip Glenister's new series Hidden and I'm reminded just how difficult it must be to write a good conspiracy thriller while resorting to cliches which were getting a bit tatty in the 70's.
