Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
Watched several shows with members of this cast (Ayoade, Berry), yet even though it's aired on places i've watched, just missed it.
Also going to start Charlie Brookers Newswipe & Screenwipe

Nice! I'm a huge fan of their work. Here's a Lego'd Darkplace I made a while back:

I did one of The IT Crowd as well:

Have you watched Man to Man with Dean Learner?

has been intentionally left blank.^ Those are great. big fan of the IT crowd.
- maybe you could draw the ot.com regulars? ;)
I've only seen about five minutes of Darkplace. maybe I should check it out.
Been catching up on the whole last season [22] of the simpsons. The show just doesn't have the charm of the early years anymore but overall i'm enjoying it.

Thanks. :) I did one of Sluggo, but no one else has asked.
You NEED to watch Darkplace. It's insane!

Have you caught BC/AD, the rock opera with most of those IT/Boosh guys. It's FREAKING GENIUS!

P.S. It's AD/BC, I've discovered, for those looking it up. ;)

Magister Pontifex MaximusJust started watching Case Histories starring Jason Isaacs.
I'm not usually into the television detective thing and I'm glad to say it exists on the fringe of the genre.
It's more a collection of linking character stories with Mr Isaacs' Jackson Brodie (silly name) being the linking material.
No complaints there as he is very easy on the eye and he plays the central role with measured restraint and seems quite comfortable to allow all the orbiting characters and the strong talent playing them to gently revolve around him (even when the story-lines are grim).
I can't bring myself to follow either the excellent Swedish or the almost as good British Wallander series because the whole thing is so relentlessly grim from stalk to core that all that hard work laying down the characterisation just gets lost in depressing darkness of it (for me) but this one is balanced just about right for me at my time of life.
Nice to see Edinburgh on screen too and I've always had a soft spot for Yorkshiremen (fictional in this case, or real).

You, or "you"? The one I did of Sluggo was of the guy that uses the Sluggo username and avatar, not the character of Sluggo.

I guess it doesn't really matter which, but I think it's more interesting to do one of the real person.

You should try doing all of us regulars like Johnny Ringo said.
And by us, I mean like your Sluggo, the person who uses the avatar, not the avatar itself. (if that makes sense)

TV's Frink got me into the dark side of the force!Been watching some of sfdebris' reviews. Awaiting Dark frontier pt. 3.
I also checked out that new show "switched at birth". Some of it seems a bit rushed but, it's overall a decent show. Could easily go to crap now though since they've gone through lots of story/development in two episodes. So far it's decent though. If they can keep it up it'll be interesting to watch.

Have you watched Man to Man with Dean Learner?
Found them 'trying' to be funny to much for my tastes. Garth Marengi's Darkplace, they kept in character and in the situation (show reality vs reality of tv production) lead to the humor/oddity. Maybe I just watched too many too quickly and the laugh track was off putting, everything seemed focused on it being humorous instead of just letting the characters/situations play out. Show plays out like a continuation of the Eddie Murphy SNL Velvet Jones character. Liked that aspect of the show, how this character controls all these people's lives.
Following this trail of actors/writers considering 'Nathan Barley'.

"friggin midgit devil teddy bear"Finally getting around to watching Ashes to Ashes. I loved Life on Mars and wasn't sure about this at first, but now that I am a ways into it (just started series two) I am enjoying it for what it is.
After spending the first portion of this year working my way through Doctor Who and Torchwood, it is surprisingly refreshing to be watching a show that was made for adults (and not in a juvenile bi-sexual obsessed Russell T. Davis kind of way).

Doctor Who is meant to be family viewing but I dig.

OMG!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I was in desperate need of something to get me out of an emotional funk, and this show has been the best medication.
I had no idea that this show even existed. I started watching IT last night after seeing this post. WOW! I also watched AD/BC for the first time last night (on the recommendation posted in this thread). Richard Ayoade's comic brilliancy is stunning.
I have been a Matt Berry and "Boosh" fan for a few years now (having discovered that show in the import DVD section of my local used video shop about 2 years ago).
If you liked AD/BC, you may like Matt's album "Opium".
It's played often in my home.
I'm so glad we have these threads, so we can help each other discover new things.
THANKS!

Agreed. I thought Torchwood was pretty immature. Although Children of Earth was good.
I liked Life on Mars better than Ashes to Ashes.
