A Kiss To Build A Dream On - Louis Armstrong

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won't last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you'll be able to project it on a 20' by 40' screen with perfect quality. I think it's the director's prerogative, not the studio's to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I'm on my way to New Orleans this mornin'
Leavin' out of Nashville, Tennessee
They're always havin' a good time down on the bayou
Lord, them Delta women think the world of me

Lord, I was born a ramblin' man
Tryin' to make a livin' and doin' the best I can
And when it's time for leavin' I hope you'll understand
That I was born a ramblin' man

The new Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros album 'Here". Didn't blow me away as much as their first, but I didn't expect it to. That was Lightning in a bottle, or Compact Disc. This new one is slower, completely different sounding but always original.

They're just my favorite. I feel wrong critiquing them. Listen to them and feel it. It's inexplicably amazing.

Edit:

Their new music video

Pikebubbles-The Cardigans

Been on a massive Cardies rotation since picking up their debut Emmerdale which also includes the cut songs from the original Swedish issue of their second album.

I never realized how much I loved them until now though. Easily a new Top 10 for me, which doesn't happen often.

Anthony works in the grocery store
Savin his pennies for some day
Mama Leone left a note on the door
She said "Sonny move out to the country"
Ah but working too hard can give you
A heart attack, ack, ack, ack, ack, ack
You ought-a know by now
Who needs a house out in Hackensack?
Is that all you get for your money?

And it seems such a waste of time
If that's what it's all about
Mama if that's movin up then I'm movin out
Mm I' movin out, mm oo oo uh huh mm hm

You should never argue with a crazy mi mi mi mi mi mind
You ought-a know by now
You can pay Uncle Sam with the overtime
Is that all you get for your money
And if that's what you have in mind
Then that's what you're all about
Good luck movin up cause I'm movin out

I know how you feel
You know I been there
But what you've been keeping to yourself
Well you know it just ain't fair

Are you gonna worry
For the rest of your life
Why are you in such a hurry
To be lonely one more night?
I know what it means to hide your heart
From a long time ago

I've been listening to a bunch of Erasure lately.  They've been a favorite of this straight American for years and years.

I try to discover
A little something to make me sweeter...

The ROTJ collaborative thread is a wealth of ideas, both on how to edit Return of the Jedi, as well as how to collaborate in an edit.  Emanswfan has taken leadership of the project.

I was crazy into Erasure back in the early and mid 90's.  Not as much now, but I still have most of their music from that period on my phone.

And my traveling companions
Are ghosts and empty sockets
I'm looking at ghosts and empties
But I've reason to believe
We all will be received
In Graceland

There is a girl in New York City
Who calls herself the human trampoline
And sometimes when I'm falling, flying
Or tumbling in turmoil I say
Whoa, so this is what she means

I didn't know they were even around when you were in your 90s.  They formed in the early 1980s, around what I believe was your 123rd birthday ;)

In all seriousness, you were always pretty cool, but you just jumped up fourteen points on the official Ender Coolness scale.

Joy Division-Day of the Lords

I always forget just how mindblowing Unknown Pleasures is. I like it better than Closer, because it has that fantastic "welcome to hell" feeling. One day I'll be able to afford a mint UK 1st pressing with that great Porky mastering and textured sleeve.

I'll be the roundabout
The words will make you out 'n' out
You change the day your way
Call it morning driving through the sound and
In and out the valley

The music dance and sing
They make the children really ring
I spend the day your way
Call it morning driving through the sound and
In and out the valley

In and around the lake
Mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
One mile over we'll be there and we'll see you
Ten true summers we'll be there and laughing too
Twenty four before my love you'll see
I'll be there with you

I will remember you
Your silhouette will charge the view
Of distance atmosphere
Call it morning driving through the sound and
Even in the valley

She's pushing 5'6",
in her Saucony kicks.
She's got lips like a sofa,
and she's strawing down soda.

If the devil was a girl,
and she wore a yellow tee.
It would be, a splitting image,
but that's okay with me.

She says, "I got something I think I really wanna tell ya,
I got something I think I really wanna show ya, I got something
I think I really wanna do right now".
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
