He had white Horses
And ladies by the score
All dressed in satin
And waiting by the door

Ooooh, what a lucky man he was
Ooooh, what a lucky man he was

White lace and feathers
They made up his bed
A gold covered mattress
On which he was led

Ahhh, Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Nice one !!

You walked into the party
Like you were walking onto a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye
Your scarf it was apricot
You had one eye in the mirror
As you watched yourself gavotte
And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner
They'd be your partner, and
You're so vain
You probably think this song is about you

Pet Sounds - from Pet Sounds. Usually I'm an audio purist and prefer the original mixings, but this song sounds SO much better in stereo. Kudos to whoever did the mixing.

look at Johnny Ringo, man.  If I had to go against that guy it would be an Indiana Jones\Dovchenko event - and I'd be hoping like hell for a bunch of ants.

My back to the wall
A victim of laughing chance
This is for me
The essence of true romance
Sharing the things we know and love
With those of my kind
Libations
Sensations
That stagger the mind

I crawl like a viper
Through these suburban streets
Make love to these women
Languid and bittersweet
I'll rise when the sun goes down
Cover every game in town
A world of my own
I'll make it my home sweet home

"Goodbye Horses" by Q Lazzarus.

God doesn't think in terms of black or white - or even shades of gray - but in big, bright, bold hues of blue and orange.

White Punks On Dope : The Tubes (as if you needed to know).

The song which I've always loved is kind of spoiled by Spinal Tap sending it up (as if it needs sending up) with Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight.

Standing tough under stars and stripes
We can tell

The dream's in sight

You've got to admit it
At this point in time it's clear

The future looks bright
On that train all graphite and glitter

Undersea by rail
Ninety minutes from New York to Paris
Well by seventy-six we'll be A.O.K

Weird crush confession time.

I had a bit of a thing for David Paich when I was a kid (he reminded me of Steven Spielberg who was a slightly less weird crush).

I think I fancied Chas Hodges for much the same reason.

Tenacious D's new album, "Rize of the Fenix"

Good so far, but I'll need a few listens to develop a fully-formed opinion.  Seems better than "Pick of Destiny" so far.

Oh, when it comes down in your loving
Oh, well then baby it's right
You say you think you are nothing
No one else will do it for you
Reach up and grab hold of the sunlight
When you are waiting for what's right
You're holding on your heaven
Wont leave you, yeah, yeah...

After that I walked out - because that was the last encore song and the house lights came up.  ;-)

DMB kicked off their 2012 tour last night.  Fantastic show, as always.
