I liked Casino Royale quite a bit. Maybe if you'd suffered through more of the Brosnan movies- you'd have been as ready for Daniel Craig as most of the rest of the world.
I also really like FF and FF:RotSS. The humor works for me. Yes, there is some miscasting, but I think Alba does well enough. Chris Evans as the Torch is funny. It's lighthearted and I can watch it with my kids... what else do you need?

Host extraordinare of "THE VFP Show"!The only Brosnan Bond I watched was Goldeneye, and I enjoyed it. About as much as I enjoyed Casino Royale. Actually, now that I think about it, these are the only Bond movies I've ever seen. So my perspective is not that of a Bond aficionado, though I know we all agree that Geo. Lazenby was the finest 007 ever.

of Earth. Not to turn this back into the James Bond pages of the "Love/Hate" Thread, but GoldenEye may be my #1 favourite Bond movie. Everything Brosnan post GoldenEye is just plain terrible, IMEO.
GoldenEye + Casino Royale = Directed by Martin Campbell. He can direct the rest of them, as far as I'm concerned.

Tauntaun herder-Damn Fool Idealistic CrusaderAhh. The glories of AVTAK. "You amuse me, Mr. Bond."-Walken as a botched Nazi experiment is genius. I like Duran too. Especially Duran in Barbarella.
OHMSS is a great movie-terribly underrated. Lazenby is good at playing the character in that film.

Disco Stu likes Disco music!I'm not a Bond fan, and haven't seen Casino Royale (2006).
But I've seen once Casino Royale (1967), and when the 2006 movie came about, I thought: this same-title business could be confusing. But then again I looked at a list of many american movies, and I realized that two or even more movies with the same title is not that uncommon of an event. For instance, three comedies like "Duck Soup" with Laurel and Hardy (1927, short), "Duck Soup" with the Marx Bros. (1933, feature), and "Duck Soup" with Edgar Kennedy (1942, short).
Anyway, the pointless question is: to the people who have seen both "Casino Royale" 's, if you had to choose between one of them, which one would you choose?
... And they had 'The Empire Strikes Back', the fifth of the four Star Wars films. He is fucking with us numerically, isn't he! "Children, count up to ten." "Four, five, six, one, two, three, ten". No, it goes, four, five, six, one, two, three… No, it goes: four, five, six. One... Two and three have not been made." "Two and three have not been made! What should they be?" "What should they be? We do not know. All we know is that there will be a big floppy character in it that goes, squawk squawk squawk... who needs a punch up the bracket!"

of Earth.First off, realize that the Peter Sellers/Woody Allen Jimmy Bond movie bears little to no resemblance to Casino Royale the book or the 2006 movie.
Next: There is very little silly humor in either the book or the 2006 movie.
So, if you're looking for a serious story- the 2006 movie is best. If you're looking for something which is mostly a spoof- go with Jimmy Bond.

Disco Stu likes Disco music!oh sure I was well aware of it being a spoof with no book basis.
I was just asking for a choice, like that, no particular reason (or justified), between either of the two movies. That's why I said "pointless question", what I mean is, "Off the top of your head, choose one, no matter what"
I really hope my english is clear enough, I have no experience other than online boards...

of Earth. We watched Gentlemen Broncos last night.
Weird. Pretty funny, but not terribly funny on the first watch. After the credits rolled, I had to go back and watch a couple of scenes again. Specifically, the first scene with Brutus and the last scene with Brutus. Sam Rockwell is hysterical in these scenes.

Magister Pontifex MaximusI just watched Triangle (2009).
A nice little film but it suffers from so many "why didn't she do that?" moments that it's in the end disappointing.
Worth a watch if you have the time, and the time and the time.
I also saw Blade 3 for the first time recently too.
It's not as bad as some people make out but like all the Blade films it's nowhere near as fun as it could be and even more so third time around.
Slow mo walking may look cool for a few frames but it drags like hell if it's done too long.
They all seem to be scripted by Russell T Davies.
Really big threat thing turns up (this time we mean it), dances with Wesley for a while and then dies in a special effects heavy fashion.
The second one at least had really creepy Vamps that weren't just paper balloons filled with instant barbecue liquid.
I had little game of spot the Cylon in the last two which was a welcome distraction.

Liked it enough as an action Flick, dissapointed in it as a star trek film.
Still better by far than the Lucash prequels.
Don't defend J.J. Trek, it was shit up one side and down the other, and you know it.
Sky, you sadden me. You're the guy who posted big about boycotting this movie, then you went and saw it in theaters within the first couple of days of its release anyway, and apparently you just watched it again recently. I wouldn't be surprised to find you own it on DVD (recieved as a gift, no doubt).

No I never bought the DVD, yes someone gifted it to me. I would have loved if their was no lens flares and shaky cam so people could actually watch the acting, or cinematography. Also a version without the overacting and bad accent of Bana, or Kirk as a narcissistic asswhole who is instantly made Captain at the end of the movie.
I hated how they made the Kobiyashi Maru a joke. How they made Scotty into a bumbling idiot savant, and who has some sort of midget alien sidekick. I hated the rap. I hated the music video mtv mindset editing and the sense it was made for people with no attention span whatsoever.
I would basically put this movie on par with nemesis which i watched recently and was not as bad as i remembered it being. TREK V was worse than i remembered last i watched it.
There is no version where you can turn off the lens flares. Normally something like that would make me turn the movie off within the first ten minutes.
Still its no more worse than JJ Abrams subtanceless directing of Lost, Alias, MI3, Fringe etc.
It was like fast and the furious, Cloverfield and transformers mixed with Trek. A sickening combination and still not as bad as the star wars prequels. Perhaps Next Gen was my Generations Star Trek, or because i like star wars better, i don't know.
Maybe because never expected anything else from JJ. He never made a THX 1138, American Graffiti, or Star Wars. I expected better of Lucas based on his history as a director.
Recently i gave Crystal Skull another chance with a free library rental. Worse than i remember it in theaters. Seriously The prequels and indy IV get worse on each viewing, i don't know how that is possible. When Raiders, Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars get better. The more times i view Jedi, Doom and Last Crusade they loose a bit because of their bad parts still not the complete shit in the toilets that those recent Spielberg and Lucas attrocities were.
