Return to Form, or Forum in this case!!My mom and my sister both have kindles. I've borrowed them for school, I gotta say I read Moby Dick which is long, boring, and unfufilling, yet my eyes didn't melt in their sockets like they would have on a computer screen. In fact it was a book without the constant page turning.
The text was so clear, it actually looked like it was printed on the screen.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won't last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you'll be able to project it on a 20' by 40' screen with perfect quality. I think it's the director's prerogative, not the studio's to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityI still get real books when its a picture book, or encyclopedia-type book. Kindle for everything else. Heck, I've even gotten into Comixology, which lets you buy comic books for your tablet/phone. I've got a few comics on there, it works pretty well!

Could've easily been ampersand7Comics on the Kindle, 005? I was thinking of trying that but it seemed like it wouldn't look great.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityYou misunderstood, I went slightly off topic into tablets there. Still digital reading.asterisk8 said:

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityI use my wife's old Kindle 2, which is pretty hefty and the page turn click is pretty loud. Yesterday I told her that I should get a new one, its smaller, lighter, etc. She didn't think we needed to, so we didn't. Last night we're sitting in bed reading and she asks me to turn the pages quieter because I read faster than she does and it was driving her crazy. I just shrugged and said, "A new Kindle would have been quieter."
In short, I tried to click more quietly from then on.
