The key feature, here, is the turbolift scene between Kirk and Saavik.

This version hasn't been seen in about 20 freakin' years. Alternate takes, in closeups -
Saavik is hot, Kirk is charming (and well he should be), & the acting is better.

(The DVDs feature the dull theatrical version, a long master shot with blah performances).

This is director Meyer's first shot at his personal cut. While this tv version uses a dirty
print, and the deleted scenes's audio isn't as polished as the Director's Edition dvd, the
one scene is a real treat. This copy isn't ideal quality, but it's quite watchable.

discontinuities and plot conveniences that were standard in movie serials because of
low budgets, fast shooting schedules, simplistic scripts and the nature of their intended
audience. So we get gorgeous special effects, cliffhanger action sequences as well as
stilted dialogue, flat script, negligible plot, missing details, inaccuracies and
a lack of continuity."

Cuts removed/added/extended:
- Added scenes from original 6 min. movie into robot sequence. 15 secs. Added tint.
- Added deleted scene "Totenkopf's Torture Room" with music from "The Ring" 1 min. 6 secs.
- Added surprise ending after the end credits. You must watch till the last frame.
- Moved the opening titles to the end. Now the film starts quiet and mysterious.
- Deleted The hand crossing out names. Who is that? Totenkopf's mysterious oriental agent is a robot. She needs a list?
- Deleted Sky Captain holding a gun on Polly. If you're going to point a gun at somebody, you better shoot.
- Deleted Polly being a klutz, always doing the wrong thing. Now she's a competent reporter.
- Deleted the bickering and snipping that was supposed to pass for romantic chemistry.
- Deleted scenes of Dex for pacing.
- Deleted any dialogue meant to be funny that wasn't.
- Deleted any dialogue were a character says "I'm going to do..." Now they just do it.
- Kaji has a mind of his own. He speaks without being prompted by Sky Captain.
- Reworked the end credits. New end credit sound track also RemiXed by Jorge.

Hi just checking in to say I was grabbing Dawn of the dead ultimate v2 d2 from they news groups, and it was all going fine till day before yesterday, and now its only 98% complete can someone please repost as I am itching to get my grubby little paws on this.

no not the th whole 98% but close to the pars aren't repairing it at all, will have to hope It gets re upped as I have all the others its gutting to be missing this one from the set, they are fantastic.

How many additional par recovery blocks do you need?

I have 2 pars but the majority of the rars are incomplete, I am using the free usenext client to grab this, and it is stating that all that is available is 98% when I started DL,ing a week ago it was on 100%, also I am not very well versed with how pars work on newsgroups? as my client has a download wizard which is what I used.

Alien Redux - "The Virtual Workprint"

Running Time: 2 hours 19 minutes and 21 seconds


A fan-edit of the film ALIEN which interpolates all exisiting deleted scenes
and a variety of unseen footage and unused score cues to create a version
that runs considerably longer than both the 1979 theatrical release and the
2003 director's cut.

This is the second release in the continuing "Alien Appendix" series: a
collection dedicated to the archiving of supplementary material inspired by
the Alien film quartet at the highest possible level of quality.

18 months ago I started work on the follow-up to 'The Sith Revealed'.

(Now, I know "The Sith Revealed" never had a proper release, and that’s because I was just
never happy with it. There were some terrible audio sync issues and the whole thing just
lacked 'ambition' when compared to the greats of this particular little fan edit niche,
such as 'Deleted Magic' and 'Building Empire').

18 months is a long time, and although I'd become more competent at using the various
programs involved, there came a time when I simply gave up. It just wasn’t working for me,
and so I sat on the unfinished project for months, trying to get enthusiastic about it again.
When I finally did, it was with a hell of a lot more ambition than it had before.
I included scans from the comic adaptation featuring extra lines, scans of concept art,
production photos, even commentary soundbites and subtitles.


To further clarify exactly what this movie is: I’ve taken ‘Star Wars Episode II -
Attack Of The Clones’ as a starting point. On top of the existing video, I’ve added
various material to give an extremely in-depth behind the scenes look at what goes into
making a Star Wars film. For example, in the speeder chase alone, I’ve used concept art,
publicity stills, rough computer animatics, comic book stills, alternate audio and video,
cut lines, (I’m sure there’s a kitchen sink if you look hard enough) to show the
various stages this sequence went through before it became the sequence you see on the DVD.
As such, the only time you actually see the proper movie, is when I had nothing to add,
bar trivia subtitles or commentary. To further enhance the DVD and make repeated viewing
of your favourite scenes even easier, there are 67 separate chapter stops to choose from.

"The Clones Revealed" is far and away the best thing I've ever produced, and I'm very
proud of it, even if it has driven me to the edge of madness at times.

I hope you guys enjoy it too.

Rush - Through the Camera Eye, by ADigitalMan and Darth Enzo

Volume 4 of "Rush, the Perservation Edition"

(I am posting in reverse order - the most rarities first).


A video-DVD preservation of the "Through the Camera Eye" Laserdisc, featuring the gloriously
uncompressed PCM audio. 4 of these songs made it to the Chronicles DVD set, but 5 more didn't.

I had to wait forever for this thing to finally get released. And then I took my own sweet
time getting it to you. So don't let the torture continue any longer. Dowload now, eh?

On June 13, 2006, Rush fans had a lot to be excited about.
After years of being out of print on VHS and Laserdisc, Exit ... Stage Left,
Grace Under Pressure Tour 1984, and A Show Of Hands finally came to DVD in the Replay x3
boxed set. Unfortunately, new mixes replaced the original ones (including the superb
Terry Brown mix from the original ESL video), and suffered significant over-compression.
To make matters worse, "Lock and Key" -- a song that was only available on the ASOH laserdisc
and not VHS, was notably missing from the DVD release. Not to mention, nary an easter egg
or bonus track was to be found. Finally, Rush's original video collection,
Through The Camera Eye was nowhere to be found.


This preservation does several things:
1) First and foremost, it restores the original PCM stereo mixes of the three live concerts from Laserdisc and synchronizes them to the Replay x3 videos
2) Second, it restores "Lock and Key" to the ASOH concert in context.
3) It captures the TTCE Video Collection from Laserdisc, and even adds the rare full-length
video of "The Big Money" which was a bonus feature on the GUP Tour 1984 concert, preserving
four concept videos that have not appeared on any of Rush's DVD releases to date.
4) All discs are chock-full of rare audio-only tracks as well. Some are embedded in the DVD
experience, while still others are present in DVD-ROM folders for extraction and burning to
CD-R.

Rush, The Preservation Edition is a nice compendium to your official Replay x3 set,
preserving the original audio for posterity. The new stereo mixes are provided for educational
comparative purposes, but the surround tracks have been purposefully left off to further encourage
purchase of the official set. Do not support piracy. That is not the intent of this restoration.
The intent is to supplement the official release so you can enjoy these legendary videos
in all their original glory.
