What a guy.

Seriously. You got no love for Isaac? Screw you.

Rather enjoyed Brave New World which I read for school last year.

I love the guy's concepts and story ideas, he has really made some neat stuff, but he was by no means a talented writer. I find him unforgivably dry. On the other hand, he did have killer sideburns!

And if that wasn't harsh enough:

Bkev, you're dead to me.

That is all.

And I have at rough estimate twenty Asimov books, by far the most of any author in my possession.

Oh yeah? Well I have three copies of Brave New World! By far the most of any one book in my collection.

Shit, I forgot to include that as an Asimov book.  I have at rough estimate twenty-one Asimov books!

RE: Isaac Asimov

I've read his first novel of the Foundation Trilogy (or is it a quadrilogy now?) which I thought was pretty cool, and I, Robot, which I thought was fantastic.  Too bad they butchered the story in the Will Smith film -- the novel is really excellent science fiction.

To anyone wanting to get into sci-fi, I always tell them to start with the ABCs of the genre: Asimov, Bradbury, and Clarke.

... I should probably add Herbert and Dick in there, but it would ruin my nice little acronym.

BTW, isn't Brave New World by Aldus Huxley?

Sure is.

Sadly, I am sure a lot of users read my facepalm post and wondered what I was on about.

What is with everyone posting in the wrong places?

It isn't that complicated! The video games thread is about politics. The HD Media Player thread is about genitalia and mammary glands. The politics thread is about Xhonzi's click habbits. It isn't that hard to remember.

To be accurate, the HD Media Player thread is about alternate terms for male genitalia.  Before that, it was about alternate terms for mammary glands, and before that it was about alternate terms for money.

Don't forget about the Mel Gibson thread, which naturally is about Tango.

Oh, and the Tex Murphy thread, which is about changing your avatar, and the Changing Your Avatar thread, which is about Tex Murphy.

Oh, and this thread is now about what other threads are about.

Brilliant idea! If we keep track of that in here it might prevent a lot of confusion.

You will not. None of us will, except for a very old and dying Ziggy Stardust who will watch it through teary eyes as he remembers us all.

You're still dead to me.

Also, Asimov making anything as brilliant as Brave New World is a bigger LOL moment as post-80's George Lucas making anything as good as Blade Runner.

I love Clarke, but 2061: odyssey three? WTH?

I need to read more of Asimov. I like his thoughts and ideals.

BNW is one of the great novels though. Doors of Perception...you have to be in the mood for. ;)

The "Remakes Thread" is about twooffour's asshattery.

The "Part 4 of Anything Thread" is about the same, but more so.
