Advanced Padawan LearnerIs there a color corrected FullHD version of ANH out there?

HarmyNews CoordinatorThat's what I was thinking, but thought that was too obvious a choice. But I agree - Harmy's DE's.

Advanced Padawan LearnerBecause Harmy's isn't FullHD, it's 720p. I'm looking for 1080p.

Technically it's not 1080p but Harmy pointed out with examples that the BD source is from an older 1080 scan from the early 2000s for the DVDs. Because the scan is old (and pretty lo rez for a film scan) that there is absolutely no loss of detail when you downsize it to 720p.
I'll try to look for the examples, but Harmy put two photos side by side, the original 1080 frame and a frame downrezzed to 720 and then uprezzed to 1080. There was no difference.

Advanced Padawan LearnerYou don't know, what I need it for, so can you please accept, that I'm looking for a 1080p version?

Padawan LearnerI'm, sorry, I don't, read minds, I'll be, more careful, next time.
In response to your ever increasingly cryptic needs: the Bluray. That's it.

Don't pay attention, this dude is probably a tool. You show him the proof that there is absolutely NO differences between 720p and 1080p for this release and he still can't take this obvious fact, plus he's acting like an arrogant and doesn't show any respect for Harmy's incredible work.
Finally, sorry but no, there is no color corrected version of SW on this website, if you really "need" a 1080p version then do it yourself or try to upscale the Harmy version but like I've said, it's useless.

What the fuck? Can YOU please try to not act like an asshole? It was a simple request, and I can fully understand him reacting the way he did. He asked for 1080p, you offered him Harmy's version, he said it's only 720p and then you started lecturing him. What the hell? Also he's not some "dude" or "tool", as he's been a member here for a long time and helped me with several video and audio aspects of the German Despecialized version. So you guys should chill the fuck out!
Also, getting back to topic, Adywan released a color corrected 1080p version: http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/THE-STAR-WARS-SAGA-1080P-AVCHD-DVD-9-for-PS3-Blu-Ray-players-Episodes-1-4-5-available-now/topic/9536/
It's compressed for AVCHD, so I don't know if it suits your needs.

LA GUERRE DES ETOILESYeah sorry, I think I was overreacting right here. I should say: don't pay attention to my stupid comment, I was angry for no reason and I missed the important point of the topic. Sorry again.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityThe real question is does he want the 2011 SE, just color corrected? Adywan's version is the 2004 SE. Or does he want a Despecialized, or a half-specialized, or whatever.

Advanced Padawan LearnerYeah, maybe I overreacted, too. But all Iwanted was a simple "yes" or "no" answer, not a lecture in quality. Or grammar.
And I respect Harmy's work, as well as everyone elses to preserve the movies we love.
If I knew how to do it myself, or had the time to learn it, I wouldn't have asked in the fist place.

May I ask what they are for that they are needed in 1080?
I was thinking perhaps you could upscale Harmy's pretty easily.

Advanced Padawan LearnerI want to reconstruct the original german movie tralier for ANH in the best quality possible. The problem is, that it's 16:9 pan and scan, and it's not possible to do a scope version of it. So I'd have to blow up a picture that has only 816 pixels in height to 1080 pixels. A 720p picture has only 544 pixels of visible information when you substract the black bars. That's why I was asking for a 1080p version.

Alright, no problem then. I don't think you are a tool and I do apologize.
I know there is an HDTV 1080p version of ANH on our favourite Russian tracker. It's about 30GB so I guess the bitrate is quite enough to work on the color grading. Maybe someone here could give it a try.

I am ready for the trials!@TK-949: So I assume you have a template for the trailer? Is it at 24fps, or sped up to PAL speed? I'd love to take a shot at it...

The problem I had is that your initial question was so vague - ANH in full HD - that it could have meant anything (Bluray? But that's SE. Harmy, only 720p but the detail is still all there. Project Bluray? It is the highest quality version of the official OUT) There are so many projects and versions, each with their pros and cons, the answer isn't a simple yes or no. If you'd explained earlier what you wanted we could have pinpointed you to something without the hostility.
So, voila, I'll shut my trap and wish you luck with your project.

Han D. SoloWhile I understand that you'd rather use a 1080p version for this project, you must realize that the number of pixels isn't always everything - for example, the aforementioned Ady's 1080p color corrected version has less detail than the 720p DeEd, because of compression, so if you zoomed in and cropped that, you'd still get worse results than when using the DeEd.
Also, I never said there was no loss of detail (because there is) only that it is minimal - definitely much less than there should be between a proper 1080p transfer and a 720p downscale.
