Padawan LearnerNo, I DO understand what anamorphic means and understand what you said. I'm just saying I like to watch the films on DVD with the black bars. I'll put this in simplier terms; when I have a DVD with anamorphic enhancement I choose not to watch it anamorphically enhanced, mostly because i have a SD TV in my room. Still, my mom was watching A Summer Place last night on DVD on our HD TV and we didn't watch it anamorphically enhanced. We saw the film with the 1.78:1 widescreen black bars. My point, you either like anamorphic enhancement or you don't.

Han D. SoloI have no idea what you're talking about. The only thing anamorphic enhancement does is that it increases the resolution. It has the exact same aspect ratio as non anamorphic, only higher quality. There is nothing not to like about anamorphic (at least where standard definition is concerned).

I agree with you Harmy, I have NO idea what he is talking about, "anamorphic enhanced" is just used for widescreen HDTV's, meaning that the resolution is correct for those with widescreen HDTV's, but if you are watching on a 4:3 standard TV, then yes, "anamorphic enhanced" gives you nothing, but seeing as how MOST people nowadays do have widescreen TV's, most want the "anamorphic enhanced" versions of their favorite films, hence why some here have made the 06 DVD's "anamorphic enhanced", which is way better than it is now.
