Impossible or not? (Sound Question)

is it at all possible to seperate music from sound effects and peoples dialogue?

If they're in the same audio channel, no.  If you're lucky and have a 5.1 mix where all dialogue is isolated in the center channel, and no sound effects bleed into it (and no dialogue bleeds into the other channels), then it's possible.
