Important Red Heads in Geek Fiction

My wife (not a red head, yet) always gets upset when "every" geek dream girl is a red head.  At one time, I think we had a pretty good list going.

Mary Jane Watson
Jean Grey
Mara Jade
Every non-Asian girl in Wolverine Comics
Barbara Gordon (at least when she's Batgirl)

Now I'm drawing a blank.  Who am I forgetting?

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Yet?

...

As the father of two redheaded girls (so far), I bet I'll be hearing more complaints about this in the future.

Complaints?  From my wife, or yours?

Yet?

My wife has told me several times that she'd like to dye her hair red, just for fun.  I've discouraged it in one of those "I love you just the way you are" ways... but it might be fun for a little bit.

To wit: she has two red wigs.  A longer one she used for her psuedo-Mara Jade costume two Halloweens ago.  And a shorter, orangier one that she used for April O'Neal last Halloween.

April O'Neal.

Felicia Day.

The one and only playable female character in Borderlands is a redhead.

Hehehe @Little Mermaid and redhead on peanuts. I know every nerd I've ever known has always been nuts about those two.

From my daughters.  When they are old enough to be offended by the male geek treatment of women in general, and redheads in particular.

I'm just trying to prepare my future, even older self.

Right, but she is definitely a nerd icon. She plays in nerdy fiction and all her characters are redheads.

Also worthy of mention is her role in Fallout: New Vegas as the only (human) female companion you can have in the game (yes, a redhead).

Ew. How much is wrong with that?

  1. She's a cartoon.
  2. She's a fish.
  3. She's underage.

Why couldn't she have been the other kind of mermaid, with the fish part on top, and the lady part on the bottom?

Would it be weird for you if I touched your fishy half?  I know it would be for me.

Has anyone mentioned Willow Rosenberg yet?

I guess Donna Noble and Amy Pond have earned their Geek points.

We have most of the Harkonnen family and Ganondorf (indeed the whole Gerudo tribe).

Marilyn Monroe was a natural red head (and it would take a geek to know that).

Groundskeeper Willie and Beaker.

Well, there's also Cass, another human female companion you can have in New Vegas, who isn't played by Felicia Day.

Although she's a redhead, too...
